Can we Repair Vaio charger - Mumbai ??

Hey guys,

My 1.3 years old vaio charger went kaput last night, the green light on the carger is not coming on and i can hera some "tak-tak" noise from the charger when i put it close to my ears.
Sony world quoted 5.8 k for the charger !!

Now can the charger be repaired any where in Mumbai ??
can i get a cheap one from grey market ??

Please suggest

I would not bother. Get a new one - HP ones are under 3500! Do not risk your VAIO.

Buy a compatble charger, 5.8K is too much. Be sure to match the Voltage and type of plug, amp rating should be same or higher.

You have two options - buy a cheap universal type charger (selectable voltage and pin types for all brands of laptops). Build quality isn't so good but they work ok. Should cost around 500 Rs.

Or buy the original charger from a place other than sony world, should be available for around 2K.

Yes let me scout lamington road for a universal charger kind of thing or a grey market sony charger.. may be at hira-panna. what say guys ?

Aftermarket adapters for laptops cost 7-800 Rs. Using those for last 4 - 5 years for 2 thinkpads.
