Beware of Fake 32 GB Kingston Pendrive

Hey, guys, there is news that fake 32 GB Kingston pendrives are doing rounds in the market at throw away prices. Actually, inside it is 1gb or 2 gb capacity. The storage chip is from SAMSUNG and the controller is from Alcor Micor.

What they have done is assembled the controller and memory chip and have created a firmware which shows non-existent sectors .Every time you paste something larger than the actual capacity the data is written into these virtual sectors and is lost.

Here is the complete report: THE FAKE 32 GB's

So buy the Pen Drive from genuine shop with all relevant bills and warranty card. The above link has instructions to check the actual capacity of your PEN DRIVE.

My friend got duped some months back in his office where a guy with a thela of 32 gb pen drives had come, he got one 2 for 500 bucks, nothing more than 250 mb fitted in them.

Also when he checked on the computer, it showed 32 gb but the actual data that could be transfered on it was 250 mb.
