How good is the iPaq 5550?

I am thinking of buying the iPaq 5550. I am asking some one to get it for me from the US. Its got a cool array of features 400 MHZ procesor, 128 MB ram, finger print security, wi-fi, bluetooth etc etc. All the articles give rave reviews about this model. But since I cant have a look at it, I am all cofused.

1. I need a low down on the PDA as such. I'll be mostly using it for reading office work - reading mails while on the move, accessing company dashboard thru net and such.

2. Will i be able to develop some custom applications for it? Being a software engineer I am sure to tinker around some with it.

3. Will you buy it if cost was not an issue?

4. Having a separate phone is not an issue for me. I have a bluetooth enabled phone which i can use for browsing through the PDA.
