Email rules for Nokia 6600

hello guys,

finally I managed to configure my Gmail account on my Nokia 6600
but now here comes the problem
I have instant email notification on this forum meaning whenever there is any reply to the topic I am debating in I get email telling me about someone posting in that topic along with link to that post

now I don't want to get these messages on my mobile phone, so I want to creat a email filter
similar to if email is from webmaster@team-bhp.com do not download mail from server

is there any way to do it?
thank you in advanced
aditya

I dont think it is possible on nokia 6600 or any other mobiles until now as they dont have an advanced email filters like outlook or outlook express.

You can't create a filter on 6600, but you can do the same on Gmail. Try creating a filter on Gmail which will put the TBHP alerts into a seperate folder. Since your phone will be downloading messages which are only in the INBOX, you'll stop getting these alerts...

Give it a shot...

Cheers!!!

great idea but I think the phone gets the emails from the servers and not from the mailbox.

still try it and let us know.

That should work, since the email client only downloads messages in the INBOX.

Let us know...

thank you all for your help

but here is where problem comes

GMAIL doesn't have folders
instead Gmail uses "Lables" meaning your all emails remain in Inbox & you can apply multiple lables to it

e.g. I can put lables "TeamBHP alert" & "auto related" to the email alert from teamBHP & when I search for any one of the options I will get this mail.

Gmail has an option wherein you can set a filter to archive the TBHP alerts directly and they would not be stored in the INBOX. Check it out....

Cheers!!!

already tried not working

i have found temporary solution
from message download choose "selected" option so only headers are downloaded & then clicking on individual mails will download the mail

That's good. You can also try third party email clients for the 6600. They might have better features than the built-in email client.
