EDIT: Here's the Android police's article about it - http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/07...dividual-apps/

Interesting. It talks about exactly the problem I mentioned. You won't know if it's a bug or permissions problem.

Yes, I updated mine 2 days back. If you haven't received the update check in xda forum as there is a workaround mentioned to get the ota update.

4.3 is out. My GNex got it today morning. Till now noticed only the new dialer feature.

Received the 4.3 OTA for my Galaxy Nexus on Saturday morning.

The new dialer function of auto-complete is nice, very nice, smooth animations.

Another thing I noticed is that the stitching of Photoshperes is now much better. The new camera app is OK I guess. They still haven't fixed the rotation bug completely, they have just turned off the animation.

Some people say battery life is better, but I haven't noticed anything new so far. Will update if I notice anything.

For those who imported their Nexus 4 from US - Build No JDQ39, if you haven't got Android 4.3 update OTA (I hadn't got mine till today morning), here's a way to force update the same

Quote:

1) Click menu -> settings -> apps
2) swipe over to the "All" category
3) scroll down and look for Google Services Framework and click it
4) click "clear cache" and "clear data"
5) go to phone dialer
6) type in: *#*#2432546#*#* (*#*#CHECKIN#*#*)
7) wait for the notification "checkin succeeded" (might take about 10-15 seconds)
8) Now go and try checking for your update.

If it doesn't work, relax and repeat the procedure.

I updated mine to 4.3 using the above steps

Post install if you face an issue with Google Maps not updating i.e. you get error code "RPC:S-5:AEC-0" - try this

Quote:

Method 1:

Open system settings
Go to Applications (or Apps) >> All
From all apps select Google Play Store >> Clear Cache and Uninstall updates
Again, from All>>Download Manager >> Clear Cache and Data
Finally, All >> Google Services Framework >> Clear Cache and Data
Now, rerun Google play store.

Method 2:

Go to system settings>> Accounts>>Google>>remove your Gmail account
Now from settings>>Apps>>All> Force stop, Clear data and cache for Google Play Store, Google Service Framework and Download Manager (like in method 1)
Now again go to settings>> Accounts>>Google>>Add your gmail account
Restart your android and then accept all the Google terms and setup Google settings
Rerun Google Play Store and update or install your app.

I had mine working using Method 2.

I got the update on Friday, but during the update lost the root. Does any one here have a safe method to re-root the 4.3 on Nexus 4?

After 4.3 update Battery life has indeed improved on nexus 4. On complete stock with 8% battery still left.

With close to 4 hrs screen time, i can only assume that it has to be 8%. If it were 80% that would have set a Trio of a Guinness Book World Record for the phone user, Nexus 4 and the Android OS 4.3 update!

Jokes apart, why does it say 68% battery on that screenshot? Maybe that's the confusion.

@ Desmosedici & nipcarlover:
Which gnex do you guys have, I mean CDMA or GSM version?
I have the CDMA version, the Sprint gnex and am waiting for the update.

8%.
Few people have reported getting 5 hours+ SOT but i don't know how that's possible.

I too got the JB 4.3 update today morning on my N4. Make sure to check on auto complete in the phone app settings for the auto complete feature to get activated.

I have the GSM version purchase from the US last year. My phone is going to complete 1 year and feels good.

Has the 4.3 update been rolled out for the GNex too or is it only for the N4 as of now?
