Sir, enabling 3G data on my phone and switching on portable WiFi hotspot, that's it right? And then connect the laptop to it as I'd do it for any WiFi. Or anything more I need to do? Thank You.

That's doable, yes. But you can do better.

Assuming you have drivers installed, you can also connect it via USB, and then go to tethering menu and select USB tethering. I prefer that as it saves battery while recharging the phone.

I just downloaded the APK for GMail 5.0. Looks like we'd need another addon apk for Exchange support in Gmail. Looks nice, though!

Hi, me too downloaded this. The exchange support feature is very much in built in the app. Open the menu (top left) and press the downward arrow besides the gmail ID - this takes you through the wizard.

Got the OTA 4.4.4 update on my Xperia Z2. shocked at seeing the Battery performance improvement.
I always use Stamina mode and used to get about 36 hrs of backup on 1 charge onthe 3100 mAh battery. but now, 5 days !! unbelievable.

There is also an Ultra Stamina mode which takes the same to 13 days+. WiFi and internet etc would get blocked though.

I am seeing no reason to replace this phone any time soon.

Just got the Gmail application update from play store. It is the new app update being discussed here.

I have with me a Moto Droid Pro XT610 (dual-carrier: Verizon CDMA, GSM) that looks as good as new and with rugged case. If anyone's interested, PM me.

Tried the new Gmail app in my Redmi 1s. Exchange support is only available with Lollipop and above versions only.

Is there a phone (android or Windows phone), preferably dual sim which has excellent network / call quality. I take a lot of conference calls these days and am deeply unhappy with my CM11 S3. I'm taking my conference calls on my old E63 which is better than my 9320.

However I would prefer a smartphone that so that I can run maps, email and twitter as well on the phone.

Budget?
I suggest you to consider -
HTC - Desire 820 (24k), One E8 (30k), One M8 (37k)
LG - G2 (27k), Pro G2(27k), G3 (36k)
Sony - T2 Ultra (22k)

So the Nexus 6 gets launched at a retail price of 44000 on play store. Wonder if the pricing will be like this with future launches too ? If so,gone are the days of Nexus 4/5 like devices, with flagship specs at reasonable prices.

Moto G2, Very good call quality and hardly heats up over prolonged conversation. The max I have tried is 50 mins and it was barely warm at the end of it

Screen On Time of 4.75 hrs for a full charge on my Redmi 1s. Screen alone consuming 65-75%; disabled all paraphernalia. Heating is not much of an issues; not a heavy gamer.

Is that normal? Is that all? How long does yours last guys? I'm on V45.0

Pretty much similar.. 100% wifi on.. 50-60% screen on time in a day (3-3.5 hours approx -mainly because of Whatsapp) and the battery lasts a full day (8am to 10pm). I am OK with the current heating status (after the v45 upgrade).

Curious, if the MotoG does the job, then why spend more? This is a backup phone for overseas use only.

Very happy with the new app. Migrated my official Exchange (Outlook) plus Hotmail and Gmail accounts.
