one key reason why you should not buy the redmi note 3? The lack of a public SDK for fingerprint authentication. That's why ICICI (eg) users have used fingerprint authentication on iPhone since 2013, but android users on such phones, still can't. Because they are behind the times and couldn't care less I guess.

Look at Moto G4 Plus, it caters to all your needs I guess (not sure of SAR value though) and it is about to get Nougat update this month. I am using it from the day of its release.

There are complaints about G4 getting hot during normal usage.

Thank you for your emotional suggestion. Unfortunately I am more practical and prefer using the right tool for the right job. She does not require the latest specs or the fastest phone for her kind of usage and is quite misinformed about phones which is why it makes more sense to buy a phone that suits her requirements well enough and also keeping in mind that her phones last barely 12-18 months, it does not make sense to spend 30k on a 1+3T.
We have ordered the Moto M instead although I would have preferred a Nexus phone
Oneplus 3 (limited quantities only) will be available on Flipkart tomorrow for 18999 Rupees.
I am not sure about warranty aspect though since this does not seem to be an officially agreed deal between Oneplus and Flipkart.
That is a killer price and even Oneplus does not seem to have a clue as to how FK is doing this.
Only the SG version is available? Whatever though at that price it's an amazing deal.

What is this SG version? Does the sale starts tonight OR is it morrow?
Soft Gold version. And sale starts midnight tonight i think. Hope they are not refurbished ones.
edit: please do check fk site for correct info. some sites say it starts at 4pm tomorrow.
Just saw on CNBC Awaaz that One Plus has raised objection on Flipkart for selling OP3 at this low amount.
So guys, do your research before making payment.

guess so. can't see oneplus 3 listed on their site anymore. some heads would have rolled. anyway good publicity for their "big shopping days" sale
Checked FlipKart. Oneplus 3 sale is scheduled at 4 PM on Sunday - 18 Dec 2016. Will this sale come under the CCI regulation ? What if they are selling just 1 piece so that they can garner all the attention with the ad? The way FlipKart operates, I'd not be surprised if this is the case.
I was not so serious about buying the OnePlus 3, though it's high up in my to-buy list. This ad made me impatiently wait / browse through the site (which otherwise I wouldn't have bothered) and also in the mean time, noticed some really good deals which could have been converted to sales (from my perspective) to the tune of 6K atleast. I think this marketing do wonders.
Flipkart sure are up to something fishy.
Meanwhile: 6.0.1 Mokee RELEASE is out for Xiaomi Mi4i.
It's half baked- some features missing.
