Those who are buying phones online from sites like Letsbuy, do ascertain if they have the IMEI number and other details on the bill. At a recent visit to the LG service center, they refused to touch the phone of a customer who did not have these details on the invoice. Its obviously fair as without that they say that without that they cannot even ascertain which mobile the invoice corresponds to. The customer was advised to procure another bill with all details from the online retailer.
My dealer includes even battery number and other details on the bills. He said even that is required for warranty.
Can any Letsbuy customers confirm if they print these details on their invoices?

@phamilyman: Its not so much of a stretch. Sangeetha quoted 26k. What i a worried about is the reliablity and the aftersales support. None of my friends have ever owned a high-end LG phone so got no feedback on it. |
They haven't launched such phones so don't bother. Check on two things:
a. service center behavior from other friends
b. Google up the UK/US customers' experiences. Or see things on xda.

a. The invoice has that - let's ascribe some intelligence/integrity to them.
b. It doesnt have the battery number but the phone box has it. Put 2/2 and u get the answer.
so one should not throw away their boxes for one year!

Folks,
I have done a baseband screwup on my phone - can you zip/email me your baseband files.
You'll find the baseband files under /system/etc/motorola/bp_nvm_ default
PM me for my email address!
@Samurai san: You probably have beta 6. I am running the nightly one:
Index of /jordan-cm7_nightly/
It says CyanogenMod-7-110601-2348-NIGHTLY-Jordan and the result is here!!!

It would help if you tell us how to access the files.

ah yes - In your case, you can use the File Manager as well. For nonCM7 guys - you need to have the phone rooted and use root explorer or yaffs explorer.
But even you would be running CM7 - so you would be on the T-Mobile 34.4.4 baseband. That will work as well. you know the email - firstname.lastname on gmail.

Dang!stupid: One more documentation flaw. I installed the 2ndInit app from the market. But I was supposed to run the app to actually install it. You install the app and then install it to the boot by running it.
Anyway, I am on Gingerbread now!

GREAT..!!!
Now, why don't you write a SUPER DETAILED list of instructions. Including each link of which file to get from where and the exact steps & dependent software/apps needed.
Finally placed my online order for the Defy on letsbuy just now---for a price or Rs 16149 after applying the Rs 1000 coupon. Thanks to all Defy users who've guided me.
I guess the phone will arrive by end of next week. Till then I'll research this thread on how to:-
- Fix the battery door, as someone said it is not that easy, given the waterproof nature.
- Upgrade to Froyo / CM7---not sure what is what. Can someone suggest what I should upgrade to, and whose post should I read for step by step instructions. I'd also like to know if I should get familiar with the phone for a couple of weeks before upgrading the OS.
- What applications to download.
Wish me luck, guys!
Android gurus:
With a budget of max 22k, which one would you suggest? I am not much interested in the SGS, since the get up of the device matters to me and i dislike its plastic feeling. So, now you know, i am kinda liking the Desire S. :)
Your thoughts please
Strange thing I noticed yesterday (ref - Screenshot).
Previously whenever I dialled a number, it would show as continuous string (e.g. 99xxxxxx38). However, after upgrading to DDKC 2.2.1, it is showing as 99x-xxx-xx38 (like the iPhone / US version). Why so?

He can start by copying from
Motorola Defy Ownership | FreeRiding - it already incorporates his issue :)

Congrats man!
a. The battery door is not tough to fix, it just needs to be fixed gently but securely. When you'll get it you will know what we're talking about.

c. The world is your oyster. Seriously. There is NO dearth of stuff. I use everything from OurGroceries to AngryBirds to TapaTalk to AdFree to Titanium Backup.
Guys,
Did anyone try the Yahoo mail app from Yahoo Inc.
It's the official app from Yahoo.
There are two apps actually, one for mail and other for entertainment, searches, etc.
Install the Mail app.
I am loving it. You can add multiple accounts. Also it's very close to the actual Yahoo mail on the web . Same smiley's option as on the web mail.
Though a bit of a memory hog, but a good app and can't move to SD card.
This will help me keep my Yahoo account clean of Spams, otherwise I hardly used to login. :)
You guys would also like it.

Are there any different steps to be followed to flash the nightly build?
Whats the difference between CM7 and nightly?
Is it stable? Also can you provide the Goggle apps zip file. The link does not seen to be working.
