Done.!!! am on CM7 and everything works like a charm.

However, had to do a resync & setup of gmail etc again which worked flawlessly.

Must say that CM7 is a huge improvement on the stock eclair & even the froyo.

Let me get a hang of this for some time and will then move on to nightly builds :thumbs up

Thanks guys for the tips.

So I did mailbox set up for wifey's iPhone 4 yesterday & I quite liked the single mailbox which can be used to configure more than one mailbox(Gmail/yahoo etc etc)

I know even BB allows to configure more than one account.

Is there a similar app for Android?

@tor - screenguard is always better even on gorilla glass
@technocrat - did you mean to see all the mail in one inbox? otherwise android 2.2 onwards allows you to configure upto 10 gmail addresses on your phone

Yes, all mail in one mailbox, I am on stock 2.2.1

K-9 Mail?
There might be other alternatives but right now I am changing my ROM to Leedroid GB and can't check the alternatives!

Thanks K9 looks good & very close to what I wanted :)

Got my Defy. Little less excited now :( The UI and settings are not straight forward nor intuitive in short usage. Guess it happens when they cram too many things.

One question on market apps. When you press install it tells internet connection is required by the app, is it to download or to work?

The message is to save you from unwanted data usage costs for downloading! Not all apps need an internet connection to work!

I Must be the one with the worst luck with phones. I am looking for an android (samsung is out) that has GPS, Batt standby, decent touch screen and the likes. MaX Budget 15 K. for some odd reason leaning towards dell x 35. Ofcourse, Tbhp has to work.

thanks!

Samsung has one of the best collections of Android phones! Check out the Galaxy Ace for 15k.

I think XCD35 is not very high on battery backup (at least on paper), Amit can comment better on how long the battery lasts. Also, do note that the backup time is highly dependent on the kind of usage.

Disclaimer: I am not an Android user yet, and am a complete n00b at all things Androidy.

Brothers, country men, fellow fans... I just got my hands on my very own Samsung Galaxy S2.
And i'm loving it...
Can't really describe how i'm feeling now...
Who ever is getting one, you won't be disappointed....

Congrats, How much did you get it for. Do post some pics and review about it.

Perhaps I am a little superstitious, 4 dead phones (samsungs) that dint last 6 months. Plus one that got chewed :D. Not happy with their after sale service an warranty. Even if the samsung rocks, its kinda out for me! All is well while stuff works, I would go for products that have solid service backup and are ethical in dealing with warranty.

Absolutely NO SAMSUNG for me.

Odd as it may sound between HTC, Samsung & LG's, there is a new kid on the block in high end androids ticking all the boxes at a very good price. That is just launched Spice Mi-410 at MRP of Rs 13,999. It's a rebadged Huawei X6 targetted at High End Android users but with a competitive price. X6 has been launched in few countries with different carriers/brands. This launch price is online from Saholic, a spice group venture Spice Mi-410 | Spice Mobile Phones | Saholic.com Expect the street prices to be even lower in few days.

Specifications:
Android 2.2 Froyo
1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
4.1 Inch Capacitive 800x480 256K Touchscreen
Integrated GPS, A-GPS
Storage 2 GB, RAM 512MB, 32GB Expansion by MicroSD Card
3G HSDPA, 14.4 Mbps
Proximity, Accelerometer and Ambient light sensor
Bluetooth Version 3
Wi-Fi
5MP Camera, Secondary VGA Camera For Video Calling
FM radio
1400 mAh battery

Can be considered for an aspiring android user interested in having everything but at a low price.

I did my CM 7 install as well. Gave me a hard time. I was trying to install the nightly updates and none of them worked. I am a wiser man now :)
