I think now the Dell XCD35 is not available at retailers. As they claims that the production is now stopped.
However, Idea blade is available on order basis (though same phone, not sure about RAM size). The best price qouted was 7300 rs. With idea 3G benefit. However, one retailer cliamed that we have to unlock itbto use other SIM.
Any user here with idea blade? How is the scheme? What is the stock RAM (256 or 512 mb?)& firmware?

Its a microUSB, yeah?
My x10 on OE charger takes about 2 hours too.
but what i do now is use my wife's BB charger.
40 minutes, 0-100.
from 50-100 takes 20 minutes tops.
Been doing it for the last 6 months now, no complains, battery all well.
Earlier too, an app called spooncharge on winmo showed me that OE was providing a "medium" charging, while a BB charger with miniusb was shown as "strong".
So I suppose, BB chargers a go-go...:) |

we discussed this earlier - charging currents vary across chargers.
OE may be 700-850mA while others do 1000mA. some are as crappy as 500 mA |
The chargers should be capable enough to supply the current the phone needs. Most phones are smart enough to judge whether it is plugged into a wall socket or a computer USB port. My HTC charges with only ~500mA while connected to USB, but draws double of it while connected to wall socket. It knows this because the wall charger has the data pins short circuited internally but in a real USB port they are not. A short circuited pair of data pins tells the phone that it is a dedicated charger.
A charger is said to be good enough if it is rated at a higher output current than the maximum current phone needs for charging. This, assuming the correct voltage.
Na dada,
What i meant, I've seen micro USB chargers of 500 mA, 850ma (my OE), 1000 mAH (using a dell streak's plug). Each will charge the phone differently.

Anyone pls? Is idea blade a good choice? Whats the RAM in it? Is it possible to use xcd35/ blade custom roms on it?
I am considering it as a spare phone. Or should I consider BB Curve?

Well.... I must admit that I'm not an Android techie at all. And all those terms like ROM's, rooting et all were completely alien to me until I found this extremely user friendly guide on this link.
How to install Ice Cream Sandwich on Galaxy S GT-I9000
May be this should help clear your doubts!
Has anybody updated their HTC OS recently? I have a HTC Desire S and recently downloaded and installed Android version 2.3.5 (IIRC) along with HTC Sense 3.0. The install went off without a hitch and I was very happy with the new interface.
The update worked fine for two days and suddenly the phone started hanging up randomly. Every few minutes it hangs up and then becomes normal automatically. I am not sure why this is happening. Has anyone else faced this problem? What do I need to do now? My phone is in stock condition.

htcSupertoolv3 has a problem, since this triggers (both zip and rar versions) a virus alert on my KasperskyAV. As it is a corporate license I cannot change the settings. So I guess I will have to either go with OneClickRoot or install the files manually. What are they? |
Got the same problem with the auto-installer from XDA. Unfortunately, the configuration files of both our AV software systems (Symantec EndPoint) and Kaspersky are locked and exceptions cannot be made. So I removed KAV and installed AVG free on my laptop. Now I have managed to get the files into the system with no alerts.
Guys, just read in newspaper that Letsbuy is officially bought by Flipkart. May be its an old news, but still felt like sharing here.
Now lets see if Flipkart lowers it prices or may be offers the discount coupon options.
Any one tried ICS on defy yet?
I tend to be conservative with any version x.0 of software Whwther computer or otherwise. This is where the maximum number of bugs lurk. Wait for at least x.0.1.
Flipkart and Letsbuy is the beginning of the consolidation. Also, new sited will emerge. One big fillip will be the GST - no more octroi (eg MH) or entry certificates (eg WB and UP).
