hi guys,
i am planning to buy an Android based phone with a budget of 15-20K. My friends are recommending HTC Wildfire. What do you guys recommend ?
P.S: This will be an replacement to my iphone 3g :D

You will be disappointed with the screen resolution and size, responsiveness after using iPhone 3G and downgrading to a 15k Android Phone.
IMO you should look at Samsung Galaxy S/ Google Nexus/ HTC DZire or any such high end phone.
^^ my sister does have a HTC DZire and keeps cribbing about how weak its battery is. Other than that she is VERY happy with her phone. The only problem is my budget which needs to be below 20K.

How it performs (your rating) - Great one.
App name - Sharklite
Free/Charge - Free
What it does - Game, a shark eats all what is there in the water
How it performs (your rating) - a good entertaining game.
Any recommendation on offline GPS application which can work on google maps?
Brut.googlemaps ?
Also to use as a modem to connect to computer and browse from the computer, pdaNet ?

Free/Charge - Free (ad supported - i got from getjar)
What it does - Physics based game - catapult the angry birds through obstacles to kill the pigs.
How it performs (your rating) - JINGA!!!! It has inspired me to look out for a qwerty android to buy myself :D

Angry birds is surely on top of my list. BUT, its no fun to play it on the Galaxy 3 which i have. :-( Slow and sluggish response.
Its a different story on the IPod Touch 2G, works like a charm. Have bought it for 0.99 cents from the Apple store. :)

Sir are you sure the new ones are coming with Froyo? I checked with 2 samsung outlets here in north-west delhi and both had only android 2.1. When I asked about Froyo they didnt have any idea about it. Can you suggest me any store in Delhi where you feel it might be there? Thanks in advance.

App name - Google Sky Map
Free/Charge - Free
What it does - It creates a virtual sky map, thro which you can look at the star and mention the name of the star. Better see the user review, its a great show off app.
How it performs (your rating) - As mentioned earlier, great to show off. esp for those who keep saying Android is no different from Symbian phone, this app will make sure thier mouths are shut once you show its capability.
App name - AG Indian Newspapers
Free/Charge - Free
What it does - It collects all the newspaper links to ensure you read them all in one place.
How it performs (your rating) - Good enough.
The application is one of India specific app, I am looking for more such India specific apps.
Can people thro some light on India specific apps.

It would be helpful if you guys can mention which handset are you using simply because the app might not work as well on your handset as the other one.
