Video calling will be setup as such through the network. Its not over IP. So where is the problem since its a alternative that one can use if they want to. Its a 3g service not a IP service.

When contacted the Dell customer support, I was informed that the phone will be available by 10-Jan-2011 and the estimated price is Rs. 29,900/-. I guess this is a high price for the product. Could not find any find reviews also.

My experience with HTC at bangalore is less than a year old when I had to buy a replacement battery for my HTC phone. I found that both the bangalore service centre at HSR layout and Richmond road were ineffecient and unprofessional. The email to the HTC support also failed to provide a proper response (just a direction to contact the service centre when in fact I had stated that the service centre does not stock the batteries.). That is the reason when I had to buy a new phone , I stayed away HTC though I agree that HTC makes very good phones.

Thanks! I will try that centre. Though I moved on to other phones after that, that touchscreen-broken speaker-broken phone is still lying idle, might as well try to get that in working condition.
By the way Dell's support seems to be good. My colleague bought a Dell Streak and after dropping it once his microphone stopped working. They're replacing his phone! (of course he didn't say that he dropped it.. but still, I think its very good support considering they've just about launched here).
Even i bought a Original Mobile Cover for HTC Touch for merely Rs.80 with Tax :)
I had a chat with them reg. HTC HD2 and one of the guy had given a very good comments and compare some other related model from other competitors.
Those people are really helpful and changed my friends HTC Headphone without any issues and repaired/replaced his Mic and Speakers in his HTC Viva under warranty.
When will the LG Optimus 2x release and how would you rate against the SGS ?
Is there something wrong with galaxy S or is it a genuine shortage in the market ?
i have been searching for the same since 3 weeks and only answer Ive got is - not available as the last shipment came 2 months ago from the company. Reason given- no idea. ETA - cannot be given.

i personally don't know anyone who owns a galaxy S - over my last 2 android years i have seen htc devices, and original google devices (including nexus s which is based on galaxy S), but never the galaxy S :)
perhaps try ordering one online?

May be they are re-launching with factory installed Froyo :).
Its out of stock at most places in Delhi also. I think they are waiting for the new stocks to come which will hopefully be with out of box froyo. If you are in a hurry check out Univercell. Last time I checked they had it in stock.
