I am a noob with regards to all this. I wanted to know whether this WajKiUI can be installed on the HTC Wildfire S. Its running on stock GB. If the WajKiUI can help save battery life and add more features then great. My girlfriend has that phone and she might get a new one so thought of doing some 'keeda' with it. Thanks.

This particular ROM is specific to Motorola Defy. But it is based on MIUI ROM and for your phone, the link is this

Great Thanks. Appreciate your help. My Nexus also will soon reach me and since its coming from US, theres no warranty as well. I might just try the flashing stuff on the Wildfire first and get acquainted. I am not a heavy user, just whatsapp and FB and Gmail apart from calling and texts. So i am hoping that Nexus battery would still be better. My Nokia C6-01 had to be charged twice in a day with the above stated usage.

Received an 85MB update on my Note7000 today morning. No not jellybean but for improved stability.

I think you are hinting at going with custom ROM on you Nexus as well.
Curious why you would want to do that, when the official ROM runs very well on it and plus it is updated to the latest release.

Well, I would not blame him for that line of thought actually. Even though official ROM on Gnex is amazing and latest always, there is scope for improvement.

Think about it. Pure Android experience means a goldmine of opportunities
for developers, who don't have to bother about retaining stock apps/bloatware. From my limited understanding, MIUI and Android Revolution are perhaps the two best ones out there.

So even though the experience is near perfect on stock ROM, there are some functionality limitations which these ROMs unlock. E.g.
- Software (CPU) rendering - full PowerVR SGX 540 (GPU) rendering
- Improvement in battery life

But yeah, even I feel its best left untouched.

Thanks to posts from Nishant & Samurai i too moved from JB / ICS to WajKiUI. Its only been 12 hours since i am on it but can say that the smooth ness and stability is pretty amazing. and most importantly the battery life i observed since full charge this morning. I normally do a full charge around 8am. and by the time i get to office around 10, the battery is down by about 10%-15% on CM10/9 due to morning mails / whatsapp & tbhp :)

But with same useage on WajKiUI today morning its almost an hr more then usual and the battery is at 91%. so thats only 9%. which speaks for itself. I shall use it for atleast a couple of days before giving my views about this in detail.

So apart from Atrix-2 what are the other good Androids in that territory? (20-25K). Xperia P seems good but has a battery if 1305 mAH.
(any experiences there? Has an ICS been rolled out?).

(I look at a minimum of GHz dual core and 1GB RAM).

Well, not so early hence the thought of doing the R&D on the wildfire. i would initially use the Nexus in stock form. Once i am comfortable using it and feel the need, then i would definitely go for custom ROMs. If i get to unlock some vital features which improves my user experience, then why not. This would be the first Android Phone for me. I have used more of Nokia, then a Sony Erricson W810i and Motorola E398 and my last phone being Nokia C6-01. Excited about Android.:thumbs up

I tried the ICS 4.0.4 OTA upgrade (kernel ver-3.0.15-1094171, dpi@DELL156 #3) on my Note today.

Looks lika a minor cosmetic upgrade (with bug fixes: Earlier whenever I used to add a new contact, the contacts app would close/crash, now its not crashing).

But on the other hand, when I connected to Kies, its displaying a message which says "Your device does not support software upgrading via Kies" :Frustrati

Samsung Nexus as suggested by Nishant. If you can stretch a tine bit, you can look at Motorola Razr too. Recently a fellow bhpain, AVR got one. its a fantastic hardware. Or you can look for deals on Samsung Galaxy SII.

Moto is very good I agree (I have the Atrix 2). But looking at ebay, nexus pricing seems to be under 24K.

The Nexus is available in Pune / Mumbai at 22k for the black phone and ~23K for the white one. Check with any big mobile retailer (not the organised chains). They will have it. In Bangalore, National market will definitely have it...

On another note, Motorola & Intel have just launched a Razr in Europe with a 2ghz processor.!! Where are we heading with our mobile hardware ?!
