Just pointing out.
it is recommended NOT to restore applications+data from a 2.2 android titanium backup to 2.3/cm7
Known to cause bootloops/random FC's
re install instead of restoring

This is exactly what happened I guess. Now re-installed CM7 and restored a smaller subset of apps and rebooted the phone... works fine. Thanks for the info!

By your logic - I would be able to buy it in 27k, right?
Can't see theprocess clearly on the website.

The Indiaplaza wallahs have become intelligent and have closed this Gift Voucher scheme as someone told me. Kindly confirm.

Exactly! You can capture the screenshot in the phone itself with root permissions. But as Klub Class found out with his phone, there are some models out there which will allow screen capture without root.

The issue is that so far rooting of the htc Incredible 2 has not been reported! This is a 'world phone', i.e. CDMA + GSM.

Is there any discount coupon or something because I see the price as Rs 17099?

I had put in a newly purchased 4gb micro SD card.

i could use it for 2-3 days. but suddenly i got a notification that my SD card is damaged.

I restarted the phone 2 times. still got the same message. then i tried to format the card but it dint help.

i took the card out and put it in my laptop.
its not showing up on the laptop too.

can a phone destroy the SD card? what might be the problem here.
i am worried to put another card that i have now.

I have been noticing an increased battery drain in my Desire SLCD after installing CM7. This is in contrary to the popular opinion that CM7 is very kind on your battery. I have been using the phone just the same way, and was trying to figure out what is causing the increased drain.

From battery usage, I see that almost 50% of the battery is eaten up by display and rest all are not so significant. Previously with HTC ROM, I have never seen such a huge percentage for display alone. I am beginning to doubt whether the battery usage info displayed by CM7 is true.

Display - 48%
Cell standby - 14%
Voice calls - 11%
Phone Idle - 9%
Android system - 5%
Maps - 4%
WiFi - 3%
Dolphin - 2%
Android OS - 2%

The phone is unplugged for 13 hours, with 8 hours in flight mode (night time) and rest normal usage with very few calls. Now battery is 60%. With HTC ROM it would have been about 70 to 75% at this stage.

Anyone using CM7 here experience the same thing?

Airplane mode ,meaning it will have its radio turned off . What if some one calls in middle of night / wants to reach you ?

PS: Is CM7 better than leedroid ?

Yes, radio turned off. The phone will automatically enter flight mode at 11:40 and will be back by morning 5:30. How many calls you get during this time anyway? If at all someone whom I know wants to reach me in emergency, they will dial the land line number. Advantage is that I can safely put the phone very near me while sleeping so that the morning alarm can be easily snoozed :D

Yesterday the flight mode time window was 8 hours because I forgot to configure it after reinstalling CM7.

Can't comment on Leedroid comparison, because I haven't used it. Will check that out.

With the recent fall in prices across the brands which of the phones is Value for Money?

Samsung Google Nexus S @ 18800
HTC Desire @ 15,000
HTC Desire Z @ 17000
Motorla Defy @ 13800

are Samsung Galaxy S LCD & Samsung Galaxy S value for money now?

Which of these has the best readability in Sunlight

Regards
Rahul

CM/CleverMax,

See - CM7 isnt the most kind ROM for battery. Its pretty much the leading ROM for Defy - not sure aobut the others like MIUI or barebones et al.

So the guys being happy for CM7 for battery are defy users. You HTC/sammy fellows have far more ROMs than the rest of us would ever get! You need to check XDA more!

I set the option to use only 2G networks only now.. Which was set in my previous ROM. So I hope to see an improvement in battery backup.

And regarding CM7 installs, I guess the most number of reported installs are in HTC Desire. (about 57K as I saw it in the stats page)

I just selected CM7 by seeing the huge popularity it has got. Yes, as you said, I need to explore more on other ROMs out there. Give me some time, I rooted only day before! :)

Ran quadrant benchmark and here's the result.

Has anyone ever bought anything from Saholic ? A quick search for reviews doesnt reveal much. The HTC Desire is just 15k there!
Also, where is the defy being sold for 13.8 k?
