This is exactly what happened I guess. Now re-installed CM7 and restored a smaller subset of apps and rebooted the phone... works fine. Thanks for the info!

The issue is that so far rooting of the htc Incredible 2 has not been reported! This is a 'world phone', i.e. CDMA + GSM.

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I had put in a newly purchased 4gb micro SD card.

i could use it for 2-3 days. but suddenly i got a notification that my SD card is damaged.

I restarted the phone 2 times. still got the same message. then i tried to format the card but it dint help.

i took the card out and put it in my laptop.
its not showing up on the laptop too.

can a phone destroy the SD card? what might be the problem here.
i am worried to put another card that i have now.

re: Android Thread: Phones / Apps / Mods

I have been noticing an increased battery drain in my Desire SLCD after installing CM7. This is in contrary to the popular opinion that CM7 is very kind on your battery. I have been using the phone just the same way, and was trying to figure out what is causing the increased drain.

From battery usage, I see that almost 50% of the battery is eaten up by display and rest all are not so significant. Previously with HTC ROM, I have never seen such a huge percentage for display alone. I am beginning to doubt whether the battery usage info displayed by CM7 is true.

Display - 48%
Cell standby - 14%
Voice calls - 11%
Phone Idle - 9%
Android system - 5%
Maps - 4%
WiFi - 3%
Dolphin - 2%
Android OS - 2%

The phone is unplugged for 13 hours, with 8 hours in flight mode (night time) and rest normal usage with very few calls. Now battery is 60%. With HTC ROM it would have been about 70 to 75% at this stage.

Anyone using CM7 here experience the same thing?

Airplane mode ,meaning it will have its radio turned off . What if some one calls in middle of night / wants to reach you ?

PS: Is CM7 better than leedroid ?

Yes, radio turned off. The phone will automatically enter flight mode at 11:40 and will be back by morning 5:30. How many calls you get during this time anyway? If at all someone whom I know wants to reach me in emergency, they will dial the land line number. Advantage is that I can safely put the phone very near me while sleeping so that the morning alarm can be easily snoozed

Yesterday the flight mode time window was 8 hours because I forgot to configure it after reinstalling CM7.

Can't comment on Leedroid comparison, because I haven't used it. Will check that out.

CM/CleverMax,

See - CM7 isnt the most kind ROM for battery. Its pretty much the leading ROM for Defy - not sure aobut the others like MIUI or barebones et al.

So the guys being happy for CM7 for battery are defy users. You HTC/sammy fellows have far more ROMs than the rest of us would ever get! You need to check XDA more!

I set the option to use only 2G networks only now.. Which was set in my previous ROM. So I hope to see an improvement in battery backup.

And regarding CM7 installs, I guess the most number of reported installs are in HTC Desire. (about 57K as I saw it in the stats page)

I just selected CM7 by seeing the huge popularity it has got. Yes, as you said, I need to explore more on other ROMs out there. Give me some time, I rooted only day before!

Ran quadrant benchmark and here's the result.

Has anyone ever bought anything from Saholic ? A quick search for reviews doesnt reveal much. The HTC Desire is just 15k there!
Also, where is the defy being sold for 13.8 k?
