How the mobile world has changed in the last 4-5 years. Earlier buying a 15k phone used to be such a big deal. Now seeing the launch price of 41,500, I am sort of happy that its not anymore closer to 45k.
So the confusion starts. Which is a better buy? S4 vs the Iphone5.
The S4 should be available outside for 39k right since the actual retail price is always lower than the MRP.

Well Doc, its actually a battle between of Android Vs IOS to be honest. If its android i would recommend HTC ONE over Samsung S4. Samsung are known for its plasticy feel as compared to iPhone or HTC phones.
lastly, what is better ? Well, it all depends on individual for some Amaze is the best and for some Dezire :D

I would say, instead of the S4 or the iPhone 5, I would rather go for the HTC One, I find it much better than the glossy plastic Samsung phones.

I would rate this as one of the best guide for smartphone buyers this summer -
http://www.engadget.com/2013/04/24/e...paign=Engadget
I would decipher the ratings in the order below -
1. HTC One
2. Samsung Galaxy Note 2
3. Samsung Galaxy S4
4. Blackberry Z10
5. Apple iphone 5
6. Nokia Lumia 920
Hi guys, I'm a newbie smart phone user and recently got a MMX 110 canvas. Nice phone ticks all the boxes, BUT I have a problem in turning off the stock music player. It just has no button for exit like other apps. so I have to pause it. then when I try FM radio the music player starts again. I tried holding the home button down for a few secs and wiping the apps off the screen. No joy. Help please.
Any dip in the S3 price after the S4 launch ?? :-)

S3 already has seen a price drop which made it much VFM. I don't expect another price cut soon as any more price cut would cause severe damage to the sales figures of the now released S2 Plus and Grand.
Guys any feed back on in.mobilefun.com ? Did anyone here purchased anything from them ?

Exactly 24 hours post full charge, the battery stands at 72% capacity.
Stats:
1) 7 phone calls (average ~1.2 mins talk time)
2) 10 SMSs
3) 3G internet - 30 mins
4) 2G internet - 15 mins
5) Game play - 50 mins
Overall screen ON time: ~3 hours ( including changing themes, wallpapers, launchers, screen tranistions, etc...) Samsung Galaxy S4 to be launched in another 30 minutes. Who's up for grabs! |
After exactly 24 hours of similar usage, I am at 52%. I think your battery life not just great, but superb!:thumbs up One last question, when you say 3G internet for 15 minutes, do you switch mobile data OFF after using or mobile data is ON all the time? On a side note, saw a show case full of S4's in a Samsumg store near my work place around 1PM. Not so excited it though!

A very basic question: the S4 which has been launched - does it have 4G LTE connectivity? Some of the news reports seem to say that Samsung will launch two versions - 3G and 4G, but doesn't say which one this is. The Samsung India website on S4 tech specs does not mention anything on 4G, but it does mention 3G. However, HTC One India website specifically mentions 4G in the specs.
If the launched S4 does not have 4G LTE (and that's what it looks like from the website), then that is a disappointment. In that case, they are likely to launch the 4G version later at a higher price!
Does anyone have first hand info? I mean not from dealers, because most of them will say anything to sell. Only a Samsung shop, or someone present at the launch can throw light.
S4 launched at the moment is 3G only. They specifically mentioned 4G LTE will be launched later on since india lacks 4G infra right now.

That's correct on 4G Infra. Though Airtel offers 4G in select cities, including Bangalore. However, those are devices at the customer premises.
Which means the 4G version will be higher priced.

Any idea what do they mean by later? A few weeks, months?
Most phones won't be supporting 4G in india before 2 years due to frequency support. Even though we would be having 4G services in a lot of areas by year end.
I am thinking of getting the S4 tomorrow with the special accessory bundle free for early birds. Some websites are also quoting that it would be available under the Own Now offer tomorrow.
So should i wait for the 4G version?
India's isnt lacking in 4G infra, but it is lacking in phones supporting the current infra. India is one of the few countries that uses a 2300 MHz band on the newer TDD (time division duplex) technology, compared to FDD (frequency duplex division) which is pretty much used worldwide.
How is the HTC ONE better than S4? Any significant advantages apart from the looks and build quality?
