Budget 2013: Just heard that mobile phones costing above 2k to become expensive, this is with effect from when?

Hey guys, I'm sitting on the fence for a new phone. I really really want to get the s3. It's probably ~27-28k right now. Only thing which would break my heart is, if the price drops when the s4 is launched. And when is the hike in mobile phones applicable from?

Check Tradus seller purple-inc. With Mobiles10, you can get it for 26.5 k. At that price it is a damn good phone. I'm ordering one today for my wife.

I don't think the price may drop any time soon. My reasoning.

1) A recent price cut, probably to pave path to S4 is already done. So, another price cut may not happen anytime soon.
2) Announced price hike for Mobile phones above 2000 INR
3) Even though S4 is around the corner, S3 still remains on top of the flagship list as it ticks almost all the wishlist (minus the 1GB RAM)
4) With the recent releases, I think S4 will be priced well above 40K and won't even get into S3 territory.

IMO S3, its still the best option below 30K INR :thumbs up

That is not the Canvas HD, its the canvas2. And you can get one those in between 9.5 to 10k max in the retail market.

Agree with you vaisakhr - Its the Canvas A110. The A116 is the Canvas HD.

Canvas A116 HD is not available anywhere, online / retail. It was being sold only on Snapdeal and they are out of stock since 20th Feb. Not sure when will it be back. It sells at 13990 INR.
Canvas2 A110 is available at some stores online. Major sites like Flipkart and Snapdeal are offering between 9 - 10k, but they are sold out at the moment.

Check any retail store for their price offerings. The Canvas 2 should not cost anymore than 9.5 - 10k (both online / retail).

Somehow my Incredible2 (Gingerbread) is still on Market. Is there any way of upgrading to Play? htc are still to launch 4.x for the Incredible, it is due but still work in progress.

Samsung Galaxy S Advance available in 15k range. Is it worth buying ?

Is the official JB update confirmed on this model ? I don't want to get stuck on GB.

I would recommend to skip Galaxy S Advance. The technology (1GH CPU and 768MB RAM) is soon to be outdated. JB might run, but could give slower performance. Games would not perform well.

My personal recommendation. Go for Galaxy Grand Duos. Its the perfect balance between Galaxy S Advance and the S3. I have just bought a Grand and the performance is amazing ! You could get it at a good deal on tradus.
