Have you tried connecting your phone to KIES ? Does it show an update there ? |
KIES Air right? Yea I connected to that but it just took me the usual webpage where you can access your phone's content like music, pics etc. There was no message about any update and neither could I find any option for the same. Is there one hidden there? Please excuse my total lack of knowledge on the topic.

Download the latest version of KIES on your computer and connect your phone and see. That's the standard way to update Samsung's.

Not the KIES air, you need to connect via USB for KIES to update firmware.
I am facing a strange problem since I recently moved to a 10th floor apartment in the city.
My phone keeps continuously switching between towers (or so it seems) and also continuously between 2g and 3g.
This seems to result in a lot of dropped calls, and extremely poor quality calls. Browsing also suffers often.
This problem exists on both my S2 and wife's ace, both on vodafone.
The connection bars show 4 bars most of the time, though, except for certain weird corners in certain rooms where its zero bars!
Can you guys suggest any app or some way to investigate this?

Hi I am using a samsung galaxy S2 and it still in running well on its official stock android 2.3.3 version. I never got around to update the phone and its worked without an issue till now. Now I thought it was time to freshen up things but am clueless on how to update it. The option in Settings>about phone> update software shows that there is no update available. So how do I update the phone? Am I doing something wrong or is it too late for me to update the phone without rooting it now? |
Download KIES from here:

This should work. If it doesn't, there is another workaround. You can download the official firmware (you'll get it on xda-developers or sammobile) and flash it via ODIN.
Here's one I found which is 4.0.4:

Here is a tutorial to flash via ODIN:

Downloading 4.2.2 on my nexus right now via Wi-Fi. Had to clear the framework cache.

Any one updated a Sony Experia mini pro? It's on 2.3 version right now.
Jb 4.2.2 downloaded. Nothing new visually.

How is Snapdeal for online purchase?
I am thinking about ordering MMX Canvas HD, which is back in stock & currently only available with Snapdeal for 13990 Rs. However, there are few complaints for snapdeal on net, so want to know if anyone here has any experience with them
(I was thinking about using my Visa Debit card as COD is not available)
For Galaxy Nexus users who cant see the update, clear data for Google Services framework, reboot phone and voila, you'll get it.
If not, here is the
manual installation method. And if you are interested in the factory images, grab them
here
Source : Android Police and Android Central
I did clear the services framework and rebooted. It downloaded the update and installation failed.
Is it because of FRANCO's kernel ?
anybody know of an app that lets you map a button to call a contact?

Do you mean a hardware button? Why would you do that? You can use direct call widget on your home screen for quick calling.
