This is impressive. How is the data usage? You enable it only when required? |

No, 3G is always on. |

Yes of course. Low asu means low signal level from cell tower and hence phone has to transmit in a higher power state which means higher battery drain. Is it always locking to the max of 19 asu? I had that issue before but with the JB leak, my signal strength is most of the time around 24-25 asu. Between, 16-19asu seems like good signal strength if not the best. |

Same here. I don't find any difference till now though. Was really hoping for the 4.1. Any idea on when it might come out? We did hear some rumors. |

But what can I do here? I mean its not in my control if cell towers/coverage in my area ain't good no? I don't think ROM plays a role here per se. Infact even on 2G/EDGE I get 16-20 asu. Now don't ask me to shift residence! . |

If I don't use data for a while, my data logo goes off automatically. After that I have to turn off data and turn it back on again from the toggle. Not sure whether it is a standard feature, but I am not complaining. |

:uncontrol. No I won't dare asking you change residence. What I was mentioning was, signal strength topping off at 19asu was an issue with Moto GB & ICS ROMs of Atrix 2. But with the JB leak, now the limitation is gone and phone goes well over 19asu. I've seen 27asu. I am not sure of why this was done, may be for compliance with SAR regulations. |

Anybody here got Xperia Z from abroad, or any of your friends ? Btw,S3 users, can you please tell me how is average battery life on the S3 under the following conditions : 1. 2G, GPRS enabled and browsing continuously . 2. 3G, data enabled and browsing continuously. 3. 3G network with data enabled, but phone in standby mode. |

It happens when you use Juice Defender/Battery Saver type of apps. Definitely not a standard feature! But then I'm on WajkIUI GB so ideally this 'limitation' should have been taken care of na? I'll check signal strength when I'm in other parts of city to figure out the real culprit. I can understand 3G being the issue but I thought EDGE network was pretty well farmed out throughout Mumbai. |

Battery drain as quoted by an S3 owner from workplace. 1. 2G, GPRS enabled and browsing continuously - No idea 2. 3G, data enabled and browsing continuously - 15-18% per hour 3. 3G network with data enabled, but phone in standby mode - 3-3.5% per hour I think browsing continuously results are mainly due to Screen ON battery drain. Result #3 is with Sync ON for office mail & Gmail. He's on BSNL 3G network in Kochi, KE. |

Thanks a lot maniac bro. Just 3-3.5% with 3g data enabled and sync ON ? So, it will last 12+h with data ON? My Galaxy SL just dies in like 5h max. Even if we browse continuously, it will last for 5h eh? Seems, S3 has much better battery than I thought. What if we are not enabling data and watching videos/movies continuously? One more doubt. Is overnight charging very bad for the battery? I mean, are there phones which will automatically cut the charging when 100% charge is attained, and will return charging again when it lowers to a particular level, like 90% or so ? |
