Anyone else faced a similar kind of problem or aware of what this might be ? I tried a couple of dead pixel fixing apps, but no luck.

I am still lucky not to have a fall for the phone!

I m sorry to inform for any physical damages you can not claim warranty. Its a standard practice everywhere.

I would say, lets be happy, if we can get Moto to fix the phone!

Touch wood Ampere !

I usually am quite careful with my phone, but the A2 has had quite a few falls. The fourth fall proved too much I guess, although all the falls have been with the Amzer shellster (back half).

Anybody know the approximate price of an around 4 inch LCD screen ?

If you meant GPS tracking, I tried 'Glympse' and it is awesome.

You can watch the other person in real-time (a few seconds lag) with their speed and position. You can even watch it on your laptop.

In fact it was a surprise to my family on a car 350 kms away when I phoned them to inform them that they had missed a turn.
You can also catch the driver over-speeding!
(The internet connection has to be good and the mobile must be kept on charge with the GPS on).

I also tried 'Sygic-Family' but it was not as good.

Its pretty heavy duty in terms of memory. Bogs down my phone. Any lighter apps?

Have you tried using LookOut and WheresMyDroid?

For my HTC Desire HD it is almost 7K. I m getting it repaired as the phones which I liked are right sides of 25K.

While doing the reasearch for my phone I ended up buying a Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos phone for my wife. She is extremely happy with the phone. Here are the specifications

Thanks, although I think the S came with an AMOLED screen. An LCD should be cheaper.

Anyway, shall visit the service centre tomorrow and see how it pans out.

On another note, the Nexus 4 is in stock now with shipping times of 2-3 weeks. All inclusive it should work out to around 24K (considering borderlinx shipping) which is still a good deal.

Guys,

My sister is using Samsung Galaxy S® II Skyrocket™ in the US. [http://www.samsung.com/us/support/ow...SGH-I727MSAATT}

She got a update notification on her phone and hence downloaded KIES and connected the phone. But upon connection she got a message saying the phone with this particular firmware cannot be updated. She has never rooted or used any custom roms ever. She has been using the phone as she got it from the phone company. She is unable to do a OTA update too.

What could be the possible issue here? Any pointers?

Attaching the screen shot form KIES she sent me.

Regards,

Might be because its locked to AT&T. Check if AT&T provides separate os upgrades to their locked phones.

Heads up for Galaxy S3 owners. The new CM 10.1 M1 experimental works like a charm. Have been using it over a week with the KT747 kernel (Pegasus Governor and Zen I/O). Excellent battery life and Performance with over 3.5 hours on screen time.

@9thsphinx,
Can You please post the build id for the CM10.1 M1? I am unable to find this in the M-repo from CM pages. Does this still have Camera and FM issues?

TIA.

Is there any android stock ticker apps for NSE/BSE as widget ?

Suggest an Android phone within 15K(no micromax etc) preferably dual core.

Shortlisted Sony Xperia U and Sola.

This phone is for sister and phone usage will be basic like few games, text, songs etc.

I'll suggest you to go windows way, I recently purchased HTC 8S, dual core. Its amazingly fast, Has an awesome camera on par with one V. Amazing build quality and most of the key apps are there too.

If it is your for sister, I suggest increase your budget a bit and get 8S. You won't regret the decision :thumbs up

Or, if you still want to go android way, One V is there on Superdeals on homeshop 18 for 13,999/- go buy it, Same site, from where i got my one V.

The deal is still on for few hours.

P.S Phamilyman, thank you sir :D

Cheers,
Sameer

Regards,

I would suggest taking the phone into your nearest AT&T store. Many of the carrier locked phones dont work with KIES. I am sure they will be able to help you out at the store :).
