re: Pre-owned Mobile Phones? - Excellent Value Proposition??

If there is just one thing that I am not lucky with it has to be phones. Most dont last more than a year, they get stolen, chewed on, short themselves out and things like that. I have started using the basic phones these days. What I have come to understand in all these years is ( considering my luck ) there is no such thing as warranty, quality sucks for all the phones made here. Ask someone to get one from abroad!

My next attempt is going to be from the grey market, ofcourse through a very reliable source... we do get the warranties and replacements through that channel and all that at a much lesser cost. Lets see where this gets me

hmmm: Having seen people around me use their phones, I do get envious at times at their luck but, a Pre-Worshiped phone? Now, that should be a rare find!

I suggest a Pre Worshipped mobile phone from a reliable source.

I got BlackBerry 8520 for around 13k 3 months back and a week later a friend of mine got 3 months used 8520 under warranty and prestine condition with all accessories for 7.5k. No problems faced till date (including battery back-up)

re: Pre-owned Mobile Phones? - Excellent Value Proposition??

well my take on this is: as long as you know the history of the phone and the source/person well, it a excellent value proposition.

but from places like grey market dealers and stores should be a strict no-no unless until you know them nicely. have come across many incidents in the past where even though the used phone had the bill and warranty, but the parts inside were found to be replaced or were affected by water and neatly covered up to work for a while.

generally from what i have seen in Hyderabad, used/refurbished phones don't last long. the trend here was to keep exchanging the phones the moment they showed any signs of trouble with newer or different models from the same or a diff dealer, that way avoiding any kind of expensive repairs.

'Pre-worshipped' is not another word for 'Used'.
And IMO, There is no such thing as a 'Pre-Worshipped' phone.

Title changed. There is no way to judge whether a phone was pre-worshiped.
