Is This Car worth it ?

Hi friends..

Just seen a car yesterday.. Owner is working in a software company.. Single owner car. 2001 model, ZEN VXi (Fully Loaded) AC, Power Steering, Power Windows, Central lock, 40,000 Kms done.. Karnataka Registration.. Guy was asking around 2.40 It has finally come to 2.10. Car has met with a minor accident few yrs back & got on a road divider. but everything is repaired now & nothing is visible on car.

What do you all people suggest ? Shall I go for it ? help

I think you can try to stretch him below that...Zen production has stopped...so,resale will fall....2.1 for a 5 year old car with 40K done-in my opinion is a bit on a higher side still.

Yup, agree with Nitin. 2.1 is on the higher side specially if it has met with an accident. 1.75-1.80 seems to be a good price if the acr is in good condition.

Prakash - Before you buy it take a trusted mechanic along and have the underbody of the car checked out thoroughly. The owner is obviously going to tell you it was a minor accident, who in their sane mind when selling their car on mentions that he had an accident where the car was written off? And underbody accident damage is in any case not very visible.

First be convinced that the car is in mechanically fine condition and then bargain to bring the price down to under 2 lakhs.

goto RTO and ask for details, but be ready to shell out some money else you won't be getting the info!

Is the address on the RC book same as his. Note the name and address and try talking to the parent by tracking on the phone directory

Why bother with this hassle and walk away ? Plenty of cars in the market

Well, Guy says Car is on his mom's name,. but Guy is Hindu. RC book says name of some muslim lady. It seems he took the car from that lady & didnt register it. So I think I will be 3rd owner, But RC books shows only 1 owner.

Confused help

I few months back sold my 98 model LXI zen at a price of 2.10 lac,odo was showing 20,000 coz i hardly used it.It was untouched and show room type condition with not a single scratch on it.in short pay higher price only if vehicle is untouched and in excellent condition.Double check he has not used LPG.

buddy...you should have asked the guy how he`s plannin to transfer the car in your name if you buy it as its owner seems to be someone else altogether......there wil a lot of registr hassles.....nd if you are really very interested...then run a check on everythin from acident history to actual owner....
