I have a problems with Swift's looks. Much as people rave about it there is a clumsy unfinished feel to the entire body design. Seems the designers started off with Beetle in mind and ended up nowhere. The fat butt, the skinny tryes, the funny shaped windows just leaving feeling that something that started off well went wrong.

I would suggest you to have a serious look ate Palio.
I too didn't like swift and my wife just hates to look at it :-)

But there are many people who buy Swift just for its appearance.

If your main purpose is for a family car, among Palio, I would suggest Palio 1.2 ELX rather than Palio 1.6 Sport (but I know, its a great car)

You have not listed your requirements. so difficult to say... All cars in market are good but its individuals requirement that makes him zero on one perticular car.

Must say quite agree with you re: Swift's looks. I too hate it's big butt!

abhijitg- There are lots of threads on these cars, go through those posts with what u expect on the car that ur'e intending to purchase. If you have any specific query, raise it & you will find lots of feedbacks and users experience on the same. So it all boils down on what u expect out of it.

By the way, this should be in "what car" section isn't it

Looks are subjective thing so let the prospective buyer decide that... We can talk about other important things in a car.

I am not sure how to define my requirements ...
I am looking for a car that can accommodate 5 ppl comfortably. Also I am looking for a mileage not very bad.
I do not know completely about all facilites ..but just heard about power window , tubeles tyres, AC, etc which I wud like to have.
willing to take my budget to 5.75 too if the facilites are good..

Why not consider the diesel option with petrol prices sure to skyrocket. Since you have a budget of 5.5 l - you may wish to consider the Indigo or the Palio.

Well, just list down your priorities in decreasing order of importance. From what you have mentioned, it could be like :
1. Space for 5 people in comfort.
2. Fuel efficiency.
3. Power windows, AC, tubeless tyres.
4.
5.
6.
7.

Budget is 5.75L max.

Other things that people look at are external looks of the car, the interiors of the car, power/performance, petrol/diesel (based on average monthly running), after sales service/support, low maintenance/spares cost etc. Also, whether you need the boot or not. If not, then no use spending on a sedan. The 3 cars you mentioned are hatchbacks and each of them are good in their own right. Maybe you could testdrive all of them and size them up to get an idea.

Okay...
1) budget 5.5 to 5.75
2) 5 people comfort
3) Good mileage

For requirement above I would go for following three cars

1) Esteem VXI
2) Esteem VXI
3) Esteem VXI

Done.
