Best Replacement for Ford Fusion??

My friend currently owns a Ford Fusion Petrol and wants to replace it. He is looking for a car with similar space but does not want to go for a SUV. He doesn't want to sped a ton on his new car either. I felt he doesn't have too many alternatives. Any suggestions??

Seems someone told him about a Mitsubishi model - but I couldn't find one.

for once , the new jazz makes sense. Or an i20 if he doesnt want to spend as much, or a linea if he wants a bigger car

Jazz or i20 is what is suggest.

Jazz comes at a cost but he may not have to spend much on i20 if cost only is the factor.

The Fusion has a 100bhp engine right ? In that case the Jazz would be a downgrade and is significantly more expensive. Ask him to go for another Fusion

The cheapest mitsubishi you'll find will be at the 20L range, pajero and outlander

The only car with space would be jazz, but since he doesn't want to spend a ton then it's out of the question.

Ask him to look at the i20 and the Indica vista, and the xylo since you get a lot of space at a cheap price

Does he not want another fusion? It is a 1.6, not everyone likes to downgrade to a 1.2

Why would anyone want to replace a Fusion with another Fusion? Seems to be some Con-Fusion here.

1.Hyundai i20 Asta - for sheer style at a reasonable price
2.Swift DZire VXi - SUPERB VALUE FOR MONEY
3.Ritz Zxi - good value for money - latest Technology
4.Vista Quadrajet - decent value for money

OR

The tried and trusted Wagon R vxi - compressed Ford Fusion - 'cheap and best" - ULTIMATE VALUE FOR MONEY

The best thing you said was replacing the fusion itself!
That car has a has some series issues.

Anyways go for Fiat Linea man. Good looking car with many options and great pricing.
Or if you wish to own a hatchbak then wait go honda Jazz.

I would suggest him to look at the PUNTO. The car has great stance and styling and a good build quality. Space on offering is also not bad.

All the best.

can't agree with you more. Jazz does not have the GC of Fusion, which can be a problem in our roads.
Airbags, refined engine and better After SS will be the plus points for Jazz.

This is a very difficut question. Once you are used to the commanding position, all round vissibility, peppy engine, airy-spacious cabin and sharp handling of Fusion, it is difficult to find an upgrade in the simmillar price range. Once the Grand Vitara gets a new engine, that will be a worthy upgrade but that is going to be bit pricy too. Another option is to wait for the Skoda Yeti.
One option he can consider is to go for a used CRV (old style, 2.4L Manual) which has done less milage and in a almost new condition. Or even a used Forester if he is ready to get little adventurous (not in terms of going offroad but with respect to the service and parts avilability )

Best space utilisation is only with indica vista among the hatch, If that is only the criteria!!!

vista is not good a performer as the fusion for sure and in no way can be a 'replacement' for the fusion. I personally feel the fusion is a hatch with the design of an SUV. SO now it would be upto him to decide to stay with a hatch or move for an SUV(a bit expensive affair)

If your friend doesnt mind used cars, he can look at Mini Pajero or Suzuki grand Vitara V6 or Chevrolet Forester or Fiat Adventure or Baleno Altura or Skoda Combi.

If only new car, he can look at Indigo Marina.

IF budget is a constraint or if you are looking for a hatch look at

U-va/ WagonR/ I20.

IF you are looking at UV's look at Grande Sumo or Scorpio.

Also he can look at Indigo Marina, It is an awesome car.
