Advice on getting a better deal - i10

Hi Folks

Need your advice on whether i can get a better deal. I am planning to buy a i10-Magna. the dealer i am in talks with is Modi Hyundai, Thane. He has offered me the following deal

On Road Price (For Mumbai) - 4,66,505
Cash Discount - 20,000
Corporate Disc - 4,000
Accessories - Mud flaps and floor mats.

They are saying this is the best available. Do you think i can get a better deal.

You can haggles for more accessories like seat covers, spoiler, stereo, central locking etc(ofcourse not all of them )

My cousin bought the 1.2 Magna twomonths back & he got following free accessories.
- Spoiler
- Seat Covers
- Matting & mud flaps
- Centra locking with remote

He too got some 4k discount plus free insurance.

I see that you have a similar deal that was offered to me by the Trident Hyundai at bangalore for the i10 Magna

On Road Price (For Bangalore) N M - 465,893
On Road Price (For Bangalore) Met- 469,947
Free insurance - 13,854 for N M
Free insurance - 13,968 for Met
Corporate Disc - 4,000
Accessories - Mud flaps and floor mats.
Plus - Hyundai's Autocop worth 3,000.

Let me tell you something, the sales guy at my place has been a friend who informed me that the margins that they keep for now is just 2,000 for an 110, but make money during the service period.

I have been trying to buy a i10 Magna/sport from the last month.I had got some gr8 discounts in the month of May to the range of 29 K cash , plus accessories like matting, mud flap, taflon coating , antirust underbody paint , keyless entry with engine immobilizer , art leather seat cover.

But now when I have decided to get one, all the dealers have informed me that Hyundai has put strict norms to standardize the discounts the dealers offer , to create a level playing ground for all dealers. So dealers are merely offering cash discounts of 1st year insurance + 4k corp discount + Third year warrantly, thats it.

I think you will face some challanges to get a good deal , the best that you can do is to check out all the dealers in your city and broker best deal out of them. There will be one who will surely offer a little extra... All the best.

In Bangalore a salesman in Advaith and Trident Hyundai gets Rs 800 to Rs 1000 selling 1 car, so the margins cannot be so less.

Also say a big dealer sells 50 cars a day that means that if the margin is only 2k the onwers profit is 1,00,000(1 lakh). This would be too less for him to maintain his business.

This is where the question arises to everyone is'nt it. Only 2000 Rs (The i10 Sale Margin).
As per my friend at Hyundai the Money margin is not during the sales, but the A.S.S.

Hah. No way.

Heres a nice thread which will give you an idea of dealer margins (atleast back in 2004) in a nice spreadsheet format

Nice bit of information. Can we expect some update on the figures mentioned in the sheet. This can give us a fair amount of idea to the magnitude of bargain
cheers
