Hi. Thanks again guys!

We decided to bite the bullet and went in for the vxi. To borrow a line often said on this forum, its not everyday that you buy a new car!!

The cost is coming to 4.57 after loads of haggling and getting a promise that my blue ritz will be with me within 5 days.

Glad you're buying the VXi, ensure you get some dealer goodies free & do post pics.

congrats akshay,
I have a query though, any reason why new estillo/spark was not considered? I am too stressing my hippothylamus here.

Hi

The reason why we didnt consider an estillo was because we already have one - my dad's ride. My wife was not too keen on a chevy for some reason plus we really like our tall boys. Another reason we didnt choose the ford figo, beat, etc. was that maruti is familiar territory - reliable, easy to maintain, many service stations to choose from, good resale and decent mileage. I drive carefully and dont really push the car too much so it serves my style well.

Reegards,
Don't get confused. You have already streamlined your choice between Chevy Beat and Wagon-R. Both cars are VFM package.

In my opininon take test drive of both the cars and check
1. the engine responsiveness,
2. pulling power with AC ON in all gears and on slopes,
3. driving seat comfort, dashboard position, all-round visibility,
4. driving ease in city as well as on highways,
5. reversing ease,
6. ride quality (ask somebody else to drive the car, sit on the rear seat and check the ride quality),
7. rear seat dimension, under-thigh support, legroom, shoulder room and head room. (take an inch tape and check it for yourself).

Both cars are well engineered and you have to decide which one suits you the most.

Re: 2010 WagonR Vxi Vs Ritz Lxi EDIT: Its Ritz !

Restarting this thread after a long time. I was pushed to a similar situation a few days ago. I had to choose between Wagon R Vxi and Ritz Lxi.

What made me choose the Wagon R Vxi over Ritz Lxi/Vxi?

1. Vxi trim in Wagon R comes fully loaded (with Stereo, Rear Wipers, Defogger).
2. Fuel Efficient 1 Litre engine.
3. Proven Reliability.
4. Good all around visibility.

About Ritz:

5. The Ritz had better build quality.
6. Lxi trim was poorly equipped. Even the Vxi trim did not have stereo and rear wipers.
7. The 1.2 K-Series was a boon to drive in city. The low end torque is absolutely brilliant for city drives.

The EMI difference between the two cars worked out to be within 3 digit figure which made our choice even more difficult. Finally had to let go off the Ritz owing to family's decision. They were not fond of the rear design of the Ritz.

So went ahead and booked to WagonR Vxi.

+1 to your decision of buying the Vxi.

You get a lot more goodies with the VXi:
1) All 4 power windows
2) Central locking
3) Door and Trunk Ajar Warning lamp
4)Tachometer

You could go for the factory fit Music system with upgraded speakers. It gels well with the waterfall Ritz console.
