Isuzu shifts focus to North India, opens outlet in Delhi

After establishing its presence in South India and Maharashtra, Japanese automaker Isuzu has shifted its focus to the north. The company has announced the opening of its first dealership in North India in the national capital, New Delhi.

Isuzu expects the region of North India to contribute to 30% of total pickup truck sales in the country. Additionally, the company claims that by the year 2023, the 1-ton pickup truck segment in India will grow to 8 lakh units making it the world's largest market.

Isuzu wants to become a major player in the segment. To achieve this, it is gearing up to expand its network by opening more outlets in the region. This year, the company is planning to have outlets in Gurgaon, Noida, Jaipur and Ludhiana. Next year there will be dealerships in Chandigarh, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Lucknow, Kanpur and Udaipur.

Isuzu has already established a network in five states in the country - Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Karnataka with exclusive showrooms in Mumbai, Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Hyderabad, Vishakhapatnam, Tirupati, Cochin and Bangalore. In total, the company aims to open 60 outlets across the country by the end of 2015-16.

Prices (ex-showroom, NCR) for the Isuzu D-Max pickup truck range:
  • Single Cab Flat Deck - Rs. 5,89,000
  • Space Cab Flat Deck - Rs. 6,09,000
  • Space Cab Arched Deck - Rs. 6,99,000

Isuzu undoubtedly is one of the best looking pick ups. Its prized decently as well. Is there a review available in team-bhp? I did a search and couldn't find any. Do we also know how its doing in south India?
