Manufacturers usually supply parts to dealers from PDCs. The PDCs will usually be in the city where the plant is and/or in other regions depending on the volume of the brand and demand. No part will be supplied directly from the vendor to the dealer workshops. RnD centres would have nothing to do with it. Would like to know where their PDC is. Chennai might be a possible candidate but am not sure.

Voted for neutral.
My only concern within the first 45XX km run was the clogging of DPF of my Diesel manual Seltos.

In first 965 km it clogged 18%. The service advisor recommended premium fuel and for the next 27XX km it was half premium and half regular before the BS VI fuel was available. But still at 37XX the DPF was clogged to 78%.
On asking about the recurrence of DPF cleaning with BS VI fuel they had no idea.
This shows that the service advisors have limited knowledge.
Also everything else besides that is consumable, the spare parts or accessories (that upgrade the existing variant to higher one) are priced at a premium.

The good things were Ambience at Service Area, friendly behaviour, a callback for feedback of service and considerate nature of SA.
This was my experience at Kolhapur.

The smaller towns like my native place Latur where I purchased the Car are even lesser equipped with knowledge and inventory.

A few days ago, KIA sent the following message extending the scheduled service time limit by two months.

Re: Kia Owners: How is the after-sales service experience from the dealer & company?

Voted for good.
In the past 2 decades, I/we have experienced the worst and the best after sales service from two different brands. Worst, without a speck of doubt was Fiat/Tata. And the best, undoubtedly Maruti. Maruti dealers have pampered us so much that, we just did not feel like trying out cars from other brands. With limited choice of vehicles from the Maruti stable, we reluctantly had to look elsewhere. After much deliberation, we ended up purchasing Kia Seltos in October last year. I have taken the car to the service center 5 times till date. Twice for the scheduled service, once for getting the registration plate riveted and the other couple of times for a minor rattling noise issue. The experience thus far has been EXCELLENT. It has been very Maruti-like as far as I am concerned.

Re: Kia Owners: How is the after-sales service experience from the dealer & company?

I received another message today, from KIA India:

Quote:
Dear Customer, We care for your Kia as much you do! Refer Car Care Tips for your Kia till you hit the roads again. https://www.kia.com/in/service/custo...care-tips.html
Stay Home Stay Safe! Team KIA
The link leads to a page with steps to be taken when the car is parked idle for long. This seems to be specifically created keeping current lockdowns in mind.

Kia Sonet incident at the service center.

https://www.cartoq.com/kia-sonet-cra...ges-the-story/

I saw this new article today and I have a few questions.

1. What is customer supposed to do first and foremost if this happen to you.
2. The service center asks the customer to claim insurance so they can begin work but there are two problems to that,
a. this voids the no claim bonus through no fault of the customer which is unfair.
b. when the car is to be sold, this report of the repair which seems quite extensive will show up on the vehicle's history and will impact the selling price of the car.

Checking the Twitter page of the Customer shows that he was given a replacement car.
Also the video of the car being driven rashly has been deleted.
