Re: Mahindra XUV700 | Poor service experience with Arav Motors, Gurugram

It's disheartening to observe that as sales increase, the quality of service seems to decline, as evident in your car's situation. It's really unfortunate to witness the condition your car is in, back-to-back incidents and all. Let's hope they can sort it out and make up for the inconvenience.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 | Poor service experience with Arav Motors, Gurugram

While I fully sympathize with the turmoil Arsh9191 is going through, there is a broader issue I wish to highlight, taking these into account I have more or less kept out of trouble for last thirty five years of my car ownership.

It is not about any specific OEM or their capacity to manage their A.S.S. The A.S.S operate with couple of conflicting conditions. These are:-

Except for luxury segment and to an extent Honda and Toyata, car dealers majority earnings come from their A.S.S, so whenever there is contest between financial gain versus customer requirement/satisfaction, former takes precedence in most of car dealerships.

The workforce at A.S.S has a large turnover or attrition for reasons not difficult to understand. Consequently the experience and expertise level in these A.S.S keeps varying. Since the lower level workforce is from the hinterland at times enforcing work discipline too becomes an issue.

Product of Indian OEMs have niggling issues of engineering design and vendor support, as both these majors have had a cyclic run in the market in last thirty years. Therefore their hold over car dealers and their supply vendors is not as strong as Maruti or Hyundai.

Not Paying insurance premiums or other undercuttings are not unheard at these dealerships.

Keeping above aspects in mind I never ask them to pick up my car. I just do not trust that employee will be able to take care of my car as I do. I do take an appointment and take my car for service/ repairs myself and am present at the shop floor whenever there is a work going on the car. It has saved me some money as well as the suited executive cannot glib talk me to do more than what is required as per their manuals. It normally is half a days effort every six months but I do that without fail.

I asked them for an extra cover then and there, and they provided it out of courtesy. It's the white cover they use for regular service inspections. Unfortunately, didn't think of retaining the actual plastic covers that was on them during delivery.
The dealer / service center doesn't allow me either, but when the SA visits the vehicle for quick inspection (to mark if any dents / scratches / body marks / engine / accessories on their WO sheet) I politely ask them to carry it with them.
Even if it's a few bucks, it is better than a headache and going back to ASC for every issues without other alternatives.

[quote=arsh9191;5616192]This is my first detailed post on this forum. Although I initially wanted it to be about a superb road trip, I was compelled to write about the extremely poor service I received for my XUV700 at the Mahindra dealership twice within a couple of weeks. Fair warning: this will be a long read, but I feel the need to share my experience here because I have received very little support elsewhere.

1st Event:

which dealership is this?

Re: Mahindra XUV700 | Poor service experience with Arav Motors, Gurugram

The way they handled the car came for servicing is absurd. Are they not supposed to use a disposable seat cover while picking up and dropping car. Sample image from google.

This is the first thing service personal do when I leave my cars in either Honda or Toyota service centers and usually it is removed in front of me when I pick up the car.

Once bitten twice shy. I would suggest you to avoid this service center in future. Thanks!

Re: Mahindra XUV700 | Poor service experience with Arav Motors, Gurugram

The issue is there with many Mahindra dealerships. Here's how CAI Mahindra Coimbatore returned my XUV700 in 2 layers of dust. Plus my chauffeur had used the wipers on the way back from the dealership

I'm just waiting for the warranty to expire before carrying out the routine maintenance by myself.

This is really disheartening.

Every time I send my Mahindra or Tata car for service for running repair, i am scared it might come back with a new problem. So far the experience has been OK with Shuban Sai Mahindra, in Mayapuri, Delhi.

Hope your car is now delivered with all issues fixed, now that you have escalated to Mahindra team.

Wow, reading through some of the horror stories of Mahindra and Tata, I feel Maruti has really spoiled me. The ONLY good thing about Maruti is the fact that if you have any issue in their ASS, if you escalate the matter, it will solved super promptly.

Full power to you OP. Cannot imagine the anger you must've felt when the ruined your new car like this.

Any updates from Mahindra?
It's almost a month gone now.

I suggest that you tweet the photos and tag @AnandMahindra to them.

Re: Mahindra XUV700 | Poor service experience with Arav Motors, Gurugram

Hey everyone,

Thank you so much for everyone's concern on the forum. I am happy to inform that all the issues reported with my car have been sorted now and past 2 visits to the ASC have been pleasantly different.

Post my complaint regarding the windshield - I was contacted by the ASC and was requested to bring in the car for a quick fix - apparently there was white paint droplets on the windshield - which they were able to remove within 30 mins. They also took up the issue of the ink stains on the seats and have been able to remove the stains to a large extent.

Hoping for happy times ahead with the XUV 700.

Seriously??!! I have had the exact same experiences with Mahhindra service centers in Delhi during my ownership of a Logan between 2008-2017. I would have thought that they have improved. But by the looks of it, the events, the sequences and the lack of response remains consistent.

So sorry for the ordeal you have been going through. Hope things improve and fast. It's a lovely car and I hope you have many years of safe and comfortable rides in it.

I would like your opinion on a similar issue. I have a XUV 700 AX5 DSL Manual. Few days back I had a similar Stone chipping and my windshield got cracked. I immediately called Mahindra's body shop manager who told me that some audit is about to start in that workshop and he'll only be able to accept vehicles after the audit is over. I waited and called him after ten days only to find out that he has been fired. Thereafter I visited the service center this Friday on 23rd February 2024. After filling the claim initiation forms, i was told that the surveyor ( My insurance is from MS chola)won't be able to come today therefore I'll have to keep the vehicle parked for three days. I denied and told them I'll send the vehicle to them on Monday. But sheer bad luck and one idiot Innova Driver rammed his vehicle right into my left front fender leaving a big dent. I called the police but he was a poor man and was pleading guilty so I let him off. Now I have three major confusions :-

1. Though the windshield is cracked on the left side and the damage to the fender is also on the left side. Still will the insurance company initiate and pass the claim.

2. Should I get the car dented and painted at the workshop ( which in my opinion seriously lacks quality)or should I move forward with third party detailer like Detailing mafia.

3.Also should I get the panel replaced or get the old one repaired and repainted.

Hi,

The damage seems to be a simple denting job - shouldn't cost much even if the insurance company decides not to cover it.
