Most modern cars and 2 wheelers require a service once a year. If you own 2~3~4 vehicles and you can't spare 1 day a year for each of those, to personally stand on their heads and get it serviced to your exact satisfaction, then you will keep on hearing such sob stories over and over again. And TeamBhp is full of them.

I couldn't have agreed more. Exactly my sentiments. However, the fact is that a scrupulous owner of a car who wishes to oversee the repair job and when he communicates such a request to ASS. The ASS on their part politely declines and wall-garden the space where the repair job is done. Robbing the scrupulous owner, the opportunity to oversee the job, and on the part of ASS, it provides them the opportunity to apply miscellaneous charges. Then we are left with a competent FNG, who at least provides us the opportunity to not only stand besides the vehicle to oversee the job but allows us to procure the consumables and parts and happily install them in front of us, there is no opportunity for an FNG to apply miscellaneous charges. This is one of the many reasons I stay away from ASS and stick to FNG.

The owner of this thread seems to be scrupulous enough to figure out what went awry. However, didn’t flinch when it came to handing over the car blindly to an SA of ASS. That is an irony.

That is an irony.
In the last 30~40 years of car and bike ownership including brands like Skoda, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Maruti etc. and bikes like BMW, Harley, Kawasaki, RE etc., never once during their service was I not standing next to my vehicle, during the entire service. The SA may crib a little but when you insist firmly and even bring to their notice horror stories like these on your phone, they mostly just shy away and give you space to avoid being sued by you (which I threaten as a last resort) in case anything goes wrong with my vehicle.

So don't be shy and insist or your rights to a proper service.

Cheers...

It's worth acknowledging that the SA at KUN Kia were professional, apologetic, and seemed genuinely interested in resolving the issue. The fact that they were willing to fix the damage without much argument ( Dashcam footage ) is a positive sign.

I have noticed in a form that the responsibility for pickup and drop is placed on the customer rather than the service center, but It's great that they were helpful despite the mistake made by the driver in accordance with the terms.

Re: Kia Seltos was damaged during service by KUN Kia, Ambattur | Caught on dashcam | Ended up resolv

Hey everyone, I'm so sorry for not being able to reply to your messages and replies to my post! This got way more attention than I expected it to get.

I wanted to give you guys a quick update. I got a call from the service manager from KUN Kia this morning. He had been trying to reach me for a week, but unfortunately it looks like my phone number hadn't been updated in their system and he kept trying to reach out to the previous owner.

He told me that management at KUN had seen the post, and have been asking a lot of questions in the back end. He informed me that he had taken action immediately after the incident and the driver was suspended for 15 days according to him. He did note that when handling my case he prioritized getting the car fixed over the paperwork and bureaucracy to help get the situation handled as quickly as possible. Which explains why I wasn't really in the loop of what happened behind the scenes.

I appreciated that he helped out and got the car fixed as soon as possible, and mentioned that to him on the call as well.

He did request I delete the post, which I didn't agree to. He then asked if I can just remove the dash-cam video because he said the employees in it would find it difficult to get future work because of it. I don't agree with him on this, however he has been cordial and responsive throughout. Which has made me accept his request to remove just the dash cam video from this post. Since the involved parties were found out and reprimanded, there's no need to drag the matter out further. I'm only doing this because of the goodwill the service manager and advisors have garnered through this with me.

If anyone from KUN is reading this, please make sure you recognize the excellent service managers and advisers like Mr. Gaja & Kalai. As I mentioned even in my initial post, they were always communicative and clear. I never faced any issues because of them. Whatever issues I did face, were resolved by them.

As wheeledwanderer so eloquently put down:

Quote:
Once bitten, twice shy! Before even trusting them again, try to figure out through SA what action was taken on the driver, watchman and his senior support driver and if they are still working there! If nothing was done, you do not want to go that way again!
Learning that there was action taken, and that KUN does monitor these matters from sources like Team-BHP, I will be continuing to do my servicing with them.

This reminds how important is the dashcam on cars, service centre doesn't care about scratches or dents, if it goes unnoticed, if customer escalate, attend the complaint, you should escalate n this to Kia customer care
