Who actually pays for warranty repairs?

I have a question about warranty repairs.
Who bears the cost of the warranty repairs in the end - is it borne by the
company or the dealer? If dealer, is it the dealer who you purchased the car from?

Also, if you have a warranty repair, my Swift handbook says you have
to go to the dealer & not the MASS. Do I have to go to the dealer I
purchased the car from or to any dealer?

You can go to any dealer. MASSes are allowed only to do routine servicing and paid repairs, and not warranty repairs. As I understand the service charges are prepaid to the dealer and he is supposed to transfer these to others (MASS or dealers). There were defaults on these and consequently about six years ago many firms dropped out from their MASS status. I guess repairs are reimbursed by Maruti to the dealers.

Borne by the manufacturer. Labour charges are paid to the dealer on a fixed (subsidised) rate.

There is a saying " for everything customer pays "

it is you who pays for the warrantee repairs, generally it is part of the product pricing depending on the historical failure rates and trends
generally X % (2-4%) of the Bill of Materials is added while computing the ex-factory pricing.

Marketeers pool all these X% from each car sale and fund the warrantee costs.

it is same for Test Drives, Demo units, Exhibitions, Roadshows, Leaflets, dedicated websites etc (= Marketing support), again some Y % is added to the bill of materials, pooled up and adjusted against the upfront payment by the company/dealer.

Under warranty the customer need not pay any labour charges. Any arising labour charges would be paid by the manufacturer to the dealer.

@beejay
I said the same.
I have replaced a lot of parts of our Indigo XL under warranty.
Neither the dealer charged me for parts nor for Labour.
