Wife's first car experience : Shocking encounter with Classic Automobiles!!

here is one.
They posted 2 ads for the same car (KA04MC5235) and between 11th Dec 2013 to 06th Jan 2014, the car mileage came down by 8000 km ( as supported by mileage photos)

Can it be a case of odo tampering? if yes, what benefit for reducing just 8000km ?
Or a case of improper photo and ad management where they posted incorrect photos at different times? if that is correct, how the car gained 8000km in one month while waiting for a prospective customer at the showroom?

@arjithin: In addition to ODO-tampering, some unscrupulous dealers are also known to use or 'loan' out cars to friends, esp. the slow moving ones that are difficult to sell. Butch SUVs are favorites among the local politico-wannabe crowd. This might be one such vehicle.

Be very careful of such vehicles/dealers, if at all interested.

Seems like tampering, just to avoid that 1 lakh magic figure (yes it does have an effect on buyers perception), they would have dialed it down. Otherwise the condition of the car would have made it very evident that it has run close to this number, so they avoided being over ambitious. Just a theory.

My experience with Classic automotives was good. I have bought a 2004 model Ford Ikon 1.6 Zxi Nxt (78K) in 2012 for 1.5 lacs from there Jayanagar showroom. They were very polite & attentive.

Even though price negotiation with them was very hard, at the end I was a happy customer.
