Car registration query in NCR

Hi

I had a question about registering a car. in NCR, registration amt is less in FBD and GGN as compared to Delhi, Noida, Gaziabad.

Will there be any problems if i were to register my car in FBD/GGN instead of Del/UP. I will be able to manage the address proofs.

No there would be no problem if you can manage the address proofs.

What about the resale value?
I have heard that UP reg vehicles have less resale value if sold in Delhi or Haryana.
Especially, the UP 21 vehicles have no resale value

I also thought about this in Mar 07. I think FBD/GGN has a flat tax as compared with % in DElhi, and so was coming out cheaper by 30K. I had the GGN address proof. In the end, did not go through. But if the savings are decent, then go with it. UP/HR registration nos were a negative in the old days. Perhaps perceptions have changed now. With more and more people shifting here by the day, these registrations may not hold any negative value now.

I could see from the thread starter's post that he wants to register in FBD/GGN instead of Del/UP.

Yes there is a decent difference in registration costs, UP registered cars attract more cops, haryana cars havea higher resale value. I will be living in UP though, so was a bit concerned abt UP cops if i drive a HR car there.

Abhi UP ke thulle itne active nahin hue hain. I had HR registered car, that I used to drive in UP. (UP 21 and near by) in every 2/3 months and never had any chance, where cops had stopped my car and asked for any paper. This problem is being faced mainly by taxi number cars and not personal vechicles.

If you can manage the address proofs it definitely is cheaper. No issues about HR cars being stopped in Delhi (or Noida or Ghaziabad or anywhere in UP for that matter)..

Re: Car registration query in NCR

Hi,

I am planning to buy a Chevy originally registered at Faridabad, I reside in Dwarka, Delhi, what would be the procedure for getting it in my name? Can I have it registerd at my office address (at Gurgaon), would this save some money/hassle?

Thanks in advance,
