On the Mercedes-Benz engine front, it will be the one which is/will be phased out by Daimler (not sure if it is the OM646 or 651).

Promising engine but uncompromising price; 148HP sounds sweet but for the 15L price (taking the higher side of 10-15 range). I'd rather stick with good old, proven Scorp.

I hope this doesnt turn out to be another Skoda-service sort of saga.

Is this a real magazine or somebody's blog? They have happily published the Gurkha photograph shot by me without my permission.

seems total fake.

The first photo of the so called spy photograph is a photoshopped image, doesnt look like an actual image from any angle. I am trying to see what was the original vehicle they photoshopped upon and yeah, Samurai, they bluntly used pictures taken by you, very very bad.

You are being too nice to them. Its a 3 year old's scribbling with white crayons with occassional use of black as well. Maybe the news is right but the price definitely isnt. This brand doesnt have any sort of experience in selling anything above 10 lakhs.

Mods, can we lock this thread? Force motors fans have been praying for rains for years now with no luck. This is not even a legitimate news article. It is someones blog with one photoshoped (that too very poorly) image and one stolen image from team-bhp with no credits/acknowledgments.

Not sure this is fake, but to quote other websites

From Business standard

Force Motors to launch premium SUV this year

"Force Motors, the Pune-based automotive company earlier called Bajaj Tempo, would take a plunge into the two million-strong passenger vehicle market for the first time later this year, with the launch of a sport utility vehicle (SUV) positioned in the upper-mid segment....."

Lol, look at the "door handles" :uncontrol

@Samurai san, please close this thread and shoot the velociti guys a mail asking to "either give you the credit or remove the picture" ASAP.

Force Motors has never come up with a nicely finished premium product. The older Matadors had cardboard door upholstery even for the privately purchased vans (not for taxi use). They did not have any DX variants. The Tempo Traveller, Trax, Judo and Gorkha too though tough workhorses, are very poor on the fit and finish department. These too had the old generation OM 616 from Merc which was fully Indianised to make awful noises and emit black malodorous smoke.
I cannot believe they will come out with an upmarket product that wont have signs of their shoddy QC.

I think there is a chance that Force could follow Premier path, as stated in some article they will look China-Taiwan for parts, then it is possible that they will source a Suv from China and plonk the OM6xx unit here and sell them. There are plenty of products in China which fit Force motors bill , some examples being from Gonow Auto,Landwind auto etc.

this is the report of their visit to china http://www.fdqc.com/en/xinxi_detail.asp?id=1214

Riding & handling test done in london last month.

will keep you updated..

There aren't too many options in the 10-15 lac SUV segment. For that reason alone, I wish Force did well in this segment, as increased competition will only benefit the end customer.
