Does anyone know if this will be the new Optra? Its called Chevy Epica elsewhere..

It looks a lot like the Optra but with better overall apeal, I was just wondering if this is it? Hasnt it been 2+ yrs for the optra here? and more than that everywhere else, if so, then may be it must be time for a redesign, which happens to be this?

Or is this something bigger and maybe chevy would launch this to price it agianst sonata?

Picked it up from : americancarfans.com

the shape is exactly like the optra, with a different lamps and grille and the NHC tail-lamps - but the current optra looks way cooler than this one - hate that grille man ...

cant see how it could be larger than optra - looks the same size - but looks can deceive ...

I cannot see the picture since imageshack and other photo-sharing networks are blocked, but the Chevrolet Epica is their D-Segment offering. It is much bigger and the engine range starts at 2 litres. While the Optra is basically the Daewoo Nubira as made by GM, the Epica is the Daewoo Legenza as made by GM. IMHO the Legenza looked smaller, but much better than the Epica.

The Epica competes with the likes of the Accords, Camrys and Sonatas.

I think you guys mean the Chevy Malibu which is the Eplision platform.

Incidentally the Epsilion exists in India as the Opel Vectra.

Ok, this may sound stupid...doesn't Chevy have anything of its own, other than Daewoo acquired models? Yes, Impalas were famous in hindi movies where they had to roll off during accident scenes, and the corvettes are at the very top end. But other than that...

A new optra ? no way. Its too early. ANd as many has pointed out , it should be a bigger car and hence in the Vectra category or so.

Those Headlights remind me of the BMW 5series and the tail lights of the NHC....overall a plane jane design..

The Malibu is a mid size, while the Impala is Chevy's 'full' size offering. This car is full size.

Just seems to me that the pictures of the car above are those of a full size car.
