Hi All,

Times Auto Show will be held in Bangalore at Palace grounds from 25th to 28th Aug 2011. Chevrolet will be participating with the theme of "safety" this time. There will be some interesting safety information on display and the visitors can interact with the actual engineers working at the Technical Center in Bangalore.

Word is that Toyota's theme is go-green. I have no more info on what the other OEMs plan to do.

We can have some discussion on feedback from the show here and see how the auto show can be improved in coming years. I would personally like to see the Bangalore Auto Show grow and become one of the premier events in India.

Regards
Anshul

PS: I have information about Chevrolet's theme because I work at the GM tech center and will be present at the auto show.

Thanks for the info.

Is there any new release from GM or new cruze on display?

No new releases this time around. There will be the beat diesel, spark, cruze and captiva. There will, in addition be some test dummies on display and some other safety systems. Should be fun to see.

I just hope that this doesn't turn out to be one more dud show like most of the other shows that have been happening over the country.

I am pretty sure it will be on same/similar lines as of earlier years. I wish I am wrong but over the years nothing has changed. Just dealer cars & few bikes etc. Many a times, the nearby Mummy Daddy & Kitchen yatra is more enjoyable than this one, with all those roti makers demo to engage you. Parking your car & walking to the entrance takes more time than to actually go through the so called exhibition.

Here are threads from past such auto shows/vahaan yatras held in Bangalore

this sounds different from the regular stuff, since you mention green theme by toyota and safety theme by chevrolet, if something like that is really exhibited :)

+1 to this. What is the other show which happens in Bangalore around the November-December months? Vaahan Yatra and some other thing called Auto Mall I guess.

Same old story everytime- a few dealers' stalls with cars already on the road), some engineering college students with their prototype formula car, a stall of chameleon car modifiers, some ICE stall and a few stalls selling fake keychains and stickers for 50Rs. each. That summarizes it :Frustrati

This is organised by my friend in tie up with Times Auto. please find the posters of the same.

The pamphlets too are very vague to be able to give an idea of what can be expected in terms of participation, content and depth of knowledge.

I dont want to drive all the way to Palace ground and pay 100 Rupees to see i10, i20 and nano. I learnt the lesson and will wait for feedback from TEST visitors this year:-)

There was an auto expo in chennai some months back. It was I would say in the very good category. Hope even the B'lore expo is as good or better.

My 2 pence on Exhibition sales. The prices (Accessories) in exhibitions are much higher than what we would get in the market.

Hi,

The New Swift will be on display and will also be available for test drive.

Regards,
Alex

Any reviews about the show? Any supercars or vintages on display or is it only the ANHV, NFF, New Swift and Beat Diesel stuff? What about the superbikes?

Is this just a show/display of cars or does it include sale of accessories/ICE also?

Oh another useless Auto show in Bangalore ? I have gone last 2 years and always felt it as a waste of time and money !! If anyone is planning to go, get some feedback from the first day visitors and decide it yourself. Just my two cents.

Man this was a waste and the stunt show was a horror- no safety maintained at all! Its best avoided UNLESS there has been a major change made in terms of whats on display
