Volkswagen bringing Jetta/Fox to India

Looks like Volkswagen is testing Indian waters not just for high end cars but starters also. Saw it in ECO times print today. Similar article online

This is getting interesting...

I am not too sure if Jetta/Bora would be brought in here without setting up of an assembly line, so Passat is more likely. That said, they still might want to test the market with CBDs and may be planning to share Skoda Assembly line initially...

What's more likely is that Volkswagen is going to get Passat into India and they are planning to price it between 22-24 lakhs, which is head on with Skoda Superb....

As we all knew that Skoda has not left much price window for VW. But if this news is true then we will have to see how the market unfolds between Skoda and VW. Skoda is good, but with VW against it, I see Skoda prices finally rationalizing to give way to the big brother...
