Maruti Suzuki YY4 (am i right??)

Hi Guyz,

Looking through Google for the new MS YY4 model I came across this page...

From what I can understand is that it lists some new applications made by big companies for setting up new facilities.

I what I think is true, then:
01.10
Maruti Udyog Limited
Motor Cars – Model YN4 [Model – K – ‘Swift’].
74/FTC/2005

>>>Is it something to do with SWIFT or a new model based on SWIFT???

01.12
Brakes India Limited
Drum Brake Assemblies for Maruti ‘YY4’ Vehicle Model.
100/FTC/2005

>>>This application was submitted in the later half of 2005 (assumption), but we can gather that the new car will have drum brakes for rear wheels (whereas most good cars in US/EU/JP markets come fitted with disc brakes on all wheels; but I suppose it is the only way Suzuki cal sell cars cheap).

01.14
Gabriel India Limited
Inclusion of new products of Shock Absorbers and Struts for new model of Toyota Corolla vehicles
73(2003)/ 124(2003)

>>>Does that mean there is a New Corolla oin its way to India????

Guyz, I dont know anything about what these applications are for and am just assuming the above said things. Does any one know about these applications or what are they for???

Is the MARUTI YY4 the SX4 Sedan?

Read it in some newspaper that the new car being developed by Maruti will be based on the newly lauched SX4. Currently Suzuki, in Europe, is developing a sedan version of the SX4. Is this our very own Maruti YY4?

Thanks

Redcandle,

Here's the link to another thread where the same sedan is being discussed -

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...ew-baleno.html

Folks believe the SX4 sedan will replace the current Baleno in India. ACI had a scoop on this in the September 2006 edition and has reiterated this in the October edition(pg. 60) as well.

Here's the information I have - the source is a person (works with an OEM) who gave me pretty accurate news about the launches(incl. timing) of the NHC, NHC ZX with a face-lift/modified suspension/VTEC, Honda Civic almost a year before the events took place. He's not sure about YY4 replacing the Baleno, but Maruti definitely intends it to be a luxury car positioned on par with NHC or even a notch above it (I hope MUL isn't serious about taking on Civic!). He says it will be expensive(compared to the current Baleno) and will be launched by the year end or early 2007.

I'm dying to find out if MUL will plonk in a new 1.6 petrol and more importantly if a 1.9 JTD is in the pipeline.
