Any idea of current discounts?

Forget discounts, Find yourself lucky, if you are able to get hold of your stuff without any waiting period. Gone are the days when the customers were treated and greeted well at the dealerships. Consider yourself honored if you are welcomed at the showroom and asked for cup of tea. :)

I could not agree better. During my recent interactions, I was practically chasing the salesperson for pretty much everything. This was not a high-volume product but a relatively high price low volume car. The tide has really turned. I was relieved when I could find the car I was looking for with a couple of weeks worth of wait. It’s a sellers game these days.

My dealership had told me to expect an increase of at least 20k in the mid to top variants and maybe 10k in the base variants. But that assumption is based on the previous year's price increase trend.

Fortuner 4X2 MT and AT gets a price hike of 66,000 meanwhile the 4X4's get a price hike of a whopping 1.1 Lakh, including the Legender 4X2 !!
So that means in Bangalore a Fortuner Legender 4X4 today costs almost 55 Lakh OTR  Not long ago one could get the premium badged cars at the same price.
I got no idea where these prices are heading. Not long ago, I used to consider an automobile a premium / expensive one if its above 10 lakhs. Now I have upgraded that threshold to 20 lakhs and above. Anything below 20 lakhs is a normal car for an 'aam admi' these days. However, I wish the income of common man are also keeping up with these price increases, however reality so far says the other way around.

The same thoughts ran through me this morning. If only the common man had similar increments to his salary/income. Clearly, that's not the case. I had sworn never to buy a car above 10L. Now, any replacement for my Vista is a similar sized or smaller hatchback.
Has Honda announced a price hike in 2022? Was going through the website and the prices are unchanged so far.
Hector prices increased by ~50k without any features addition. :Shockked:

Imagine if we had Ford's beast - Endeavour in the mix. Would Toyota be so audacious in raising prices?
In 2008 or somewhere about then, a Land Cruiser Prado used to be around 50-55L on road. Today its a Fortuner at that price. Taxes, inflation, less competition and Toyota's quality - all result in paying more!

The Endeavour would not make much of a difference, just a minor dent. I for 1 Endeavour that I used to spot, I used to see multiple times the number of Fortuners.
Also, they have named this car aptly. The Fortuner is truly a fortune for Toyota.
Anyway, this car is still too overpriced as new. But then the resale value is also so high that not many people are unhappy (except the ones who cannot afford it obviously).
