Why is there a sudden discount of this proportion? From the reports, a refresh is coming only in 2026.
I am looking for an upgrade and have done TD of both. Such a sweet deal is very tempting.

How credible is this news? We are yet to see a refresh of the Skoda Kushaq, which was the 1st rollout of the German's 2.0 program. Post that, the Taigun will follow; and then the sedan counterparts.

I have booked a TD of the Virtus 1.5 DSG this week and this price drop news comes just in-time, maybe?
But yeah, their respective offerings are due for a refresh. The competition has moved ahead. They were already kinda behind back then.
Bdw, how did you find the Virtus? There's a sudden spike in the interest for this car and the sales numbers are evidently giving it away!
Honda City Hybrid prices hiked by almost Rs 30,000
Honda has increased the prices of the City e:HEV with immediate effect. The single ZX trim now costs Rs 20.85 lakh (ex-showroom), which is Rs 29,900 more than before.
The City Hybrid uses a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine paired with two electric motors, offering a combined output of 124 BHP and 253 Nm. The engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Still, the City Hybrid is way more expensive than the standard model. It does come equipped with a lot of features, though. Honda offers advanced safety aids like ADAS, which includes Lane Keep Assist, Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control and Auto High Beam. The car also gets TPMS, Vehicle Stability Assist, Agile Handling Assist, Hill Start Assist and more.
The City Hybrid was available in a mid-spec V variant before it was discontinued in April last year.

Strange decision, when prices should be going the other way. Whatever happened to Honda's plans of localizing hybrid manufacturing to cut costs further? This is a very poor move in a market that's begging for better hybrids. Solid product, poor product planning.
They should provide a break up of how many hybrids they sell each month. That will give some context to the prices and sales. Else, this product does feel like a dud.

The reason why it sees a sudden spike in the interest is due to its timeless looks especially in GT guise, which our youngsters got attracted to it and I'm also one of them.
We were considering getting this apart from Creta Electric as the replacement for our Honda City, but since I'm in USA, I don't think I'd get this one due to the FE it offers though our usage is less.
Arena discounts are highly misleading at least for the wagon r in Trivandrum. 6 airbag model discount is only 15,000 plus corporate of 2200.
For old stock 2 airbag model the discount is 40 k plus corporate (25 +15k exchange bonus)

The City hybrid is a lovely vehicle and I so wished for Honda to mainstream their hybrid offering. But alas! they did not bother to offer it in the Elevate, which was frankly baffling and now they decide to hike prices of an already overpriced City Hybrid! I am sure the company knows better and knows what it's doing. But as a layman, it makes no sense to me that such a nice powertrain is not milked by Honda.
As usual, nothing from Toyota stable! Can't blame them fully when roughly 43% of Fortuner's ex showroom price goes as taxes. I was hoping to see Hyryder getting some discounts like GV from Maruti.

The Hyryder does have some discounts, Not sure if these are for the updated versions though:

I TD'd both Virtus and Taigun. Essentially, they are the only choice for me, coming from a Polo. I do have a soft corner for Creta, which I am yet to TD, though unsure about the safety. Coming to Virtus, my heart is set on this, but I feel the length is just too much to handle for the next 10 years, considering the narrow lanes of the city. I felt Taigun is essentially the same car, with a bit higher seating. I felt at home in that as well.
By the way, has both Virtus and Taigun lost sub woofer setup or did they not have it from day 1 itself? There have been so many additions and deletions that it is tough to track it.

Nope.
They haven't removed the subwoofer setup as per the brochure.
BTW, the discounts on Virtus are too tempting that I feel like getting rid of our Honda City ASAP and get this one but have to wait for sometime due to personal reasons.
