Re: Ford @ Auto Expo 2012

The new Ranger based Endy not even on display??

Does that mean it is some distance away from its launch? Bad news if the answer is yes.

Re: Ford @ Auto Expo 2012

Ecosport all over the Ford Gallery, because that's the one thing that will catch the eye.

I never understand why they cant launch the concept as it is. I mean the front grill isn't too much overdone. It can be a differentiator in itself. Atleast I liked it.

Why do you think the spare tyre at the rear will be removed ? I think that is what gives the car it's character. Without that the car looks pretty small in flesh. Also, having that tyre anywhere else will mean the boot space is reduced.

I think if they just redesign the grille a bit and maybe the headlamps, it's a good looking car.

Its just a guess, but my reasoning is as follows :
1) Why waste ~200 mm of length for just a spare tyre (i agree it looks cool), but on a sub 4-meter car, that could be precious legroom. This is the main point - based on an assumption that the tyre will also be counted as part of the car's length.
2) Not a very convenient place to remove the spare tyre from, as well as place it back. Tyre + wheel combos are HEAVY. Though of-course, there are other cars that do this.

Conversely :
1) The old Ecosport DID have a tyre on the rear tailgate
2) Ford is showing this exact set-up on their website too

Re: Ford @ Auto Expo 2012

Well, I read somewhere that a tyre at the rear is not counted towards the 4 mtr length, that is why I think ford may just decide to leave it there.
