Hello,

As previously said in another post the models have been launched,

E350 now comes with a new alloy wheel design,
Panoramic sun roof
COMAND online, yes you can open google.com in your car now!

GL

The SUV has about six months left in its life cycle and to bid it farewell Mercedes India is giving it a good farewell by launching a Grand Edition.

The car has a wonderful dual tone full leather interior and a lot of aesthetic enhancements like darkened head lamps etc. you can find all details and a lot more pictures in the link below,

http://www.worldcarfans.com/11105233...ition-revealed

Also a little interesting info,

In early 2011 a devastating tsunami disrupted Japan, and along with personal loss came a lot of business loss, and loads of factories etc. we're effected, due to which the OEM supplier of the COMAND basic system could not supply certain components and which is why some countries including India got the updated COMAND ONLINE which is generally an expensive option as complimentary as Mercedes could not offer you cars without a screen :)

I do not know if in due time they will go back to the smaller system but as of now all E and C buyers are seriously lucky.

Regards,

Just some updates,

GL Grand Edition has had a massive price cut and adds a lot of upgrades to it's interiors, but the Rear Seat Entertainment system is no more available, It can be added as an aftermarket accessory,

E350's alloys for some time will remain, there has been some confusion in Kit orders, but Panorama roof and COMAND Online stay,

S350 Also now has the Panorama roof which until 2011 was restricted to 500 models only,

Also the Mercedes India website is now fully updated with all new models and their respective base prices,

Mercedes India Price List

New ML is being launched in April, anyone who wants the car do book it now as the first 100 cars are special, they include some wonderful designo stuff,

Regards,

Any changes to the 2012 models of the E200 CGI, E220 CDI and E250 CDI?

The E200 CGI still has the old 5 speed box compared to the 7G-Tronic found in the lower C200 CGI.

Surprisingly Mercedes is the only one with a very good petrol engine. The A6 and 5 series don't have a efficient but powerful motor only guzzling 6 cylinders.

Merc could have priced the E200 CGI at a lower price point to take buyers away from Audi and BMW.

The E200 CGI makes good sense for low running in city use considering it's a 1.8litre engine with 185bhp and a very healthy 285Nm torque.

BMW has the 520i from 2012, it's impressive too,

And no other changes,

Regards,

So is it worth waiting for the E200 CGI or is the 5 speeder good enough for city use and chauffeur driven?

I've heard 7G-tronic has issues and is not as reliable as the old 5 speeder from all MB forums.

I'm guessing they will be launching the 7G sometime this year in E200 CGI. That time the discounts on the old 5 speed may be tempting.

I've had more issues with 5G, but 7G now has been revised a lot and I assume all has been sorted out, and also do remember there will be little noise about 7G launch,

Its just going to quietly slip in, once 5G and its kits are all done with, so I don't you will see crazy discounting, which will happen in mid 2013 with the E's heavy facelift,

Regards,

The alloys on the GL Grand Edition look similar to the ones on the ML Grand Edition!

Also i recently saw a GL 420cdi here in Mumbai, it was a pre-facelift (without the led's). Will that engine variant be launched as well? I guess the one i saw was a private import.

Thanks S350L-E240!

Why don't you tell Mercedes to launch E200 cgi at a price lower than E220 cdi? :D It is currently 3L higher than 220 cdi in Bangalore!

And my Bangalore dealer is in constant denial of any E350 with pano.

Mercedes needs to get the SatNav on the GL (and other models as well for that matter) working.

You buy a car costing almost Rs. 1 Crs. and the SatNav does not work as data for India is not available. So you have a screen where one can only toggle between audio and 4X4 settings (in a vehicle which you will never take 4X4) And then one has to get oneself an aftermarket addon stuck to screen MMI unit. Not the best buying experience.

Also the GL inspite of a lot of the features feels plane jane compared to the S and to some extent even the E in terms of the interior quality. The ride even in comfort mode (lowest ground clearance) leaves a lot to be desired for indian road conditions (the same error that they did with the first gen S320 launched in 2000 in India. The newer one handles the Indian roads much better.

CBU is fine but suspensions need to be tweaked for Indian road conditions whatever be the model and expecially for so for a brand like Mercedese which is more about comfort rather than Drive.

Yes the special editions/variants will get the cars off the shelf for now but reliability and adapting the cars slightly for the Indian market is also essential.

Regards,

In S-class price list I see S300 L. Is this a new engine / version soon to be introduced in S-class range?

PPS,

No 420/450 CDI, as this model soon goes out of production so any more variants will only come with the next GL which makes its global debut in the next few months, and will be in India in Q2 2013,

Best thing about the Alloys is they are 20" and really make the car look good and I love the new American grill that they have used on them,

ACM,

The GL soon gets a complete makeover, and that model will be quite loaded and not feel as bare bones as the current generation, and with regards to Navigation I guess only BMW India has been super active as they have had it for almost two years now,

The German Spy is back with scoops :)

How does the comand online connect to the Internet? Do u have a dedicated 3G sim card slot or do you have to sync via your smartphone?

The ML pricing is brilliant at the point, same as the E350 while it offers better value and space with the same engine. If the new one is launched at the same price I can see it eat away from E350 sales greatly. Hope it comes in CKD

Lol, how you doing?

No sim card slot it basically works via your phones data connection,

ML price might go up a little but initially will be CBU and first 100 cars are really amazing with all the designo packages as standard, later CKD starts along with the ML 250CDI

S350L-E240, may I ask if you are quite sure the new ML is expected by April? Or is it a pre- Diwali launch? The dealership guys seems to be not most forthcoming. Do you get wind of the Sport edition coming? Or is it just the Designo? Thank you!

April deliveries are confirmed, sport and executive models were just names given by MB for previous ML lets see how the new range is named as the range will be a lot wider compared to previous ML. But all models will come including base models and Designo,

Have also replied to sidindicas post.
