The earlier, much smaller ridge-nosed car was also considered, but the manufacturer wisely decided to wait

Now I think HM finally is getting some brains inside the company.

Outlander is one Soft-roader which has helped mitsubishi survive. Lets see How It fares on release.

2 things worth mentioning here.

HM sucks when it comes to bringing out new vehicles in India. There are sparse chances that HM may not cut costs with this vehicle.

secondly HOnda's value plays a big role here. THough not impossible it is tough for HM to sell This car without pegging it at a cheaper price with more features.:)

I have seen outlander outside India. By looks i prefer CRV. If the price diffrence is not very high between crv and outlander, i wonder who will take a mitsubishi.
Does anyone know what changes (read cut down features) HM is planning to make to outlander on its way here?

the one you have seen is this

but the one we are talking about is the new 2006 model. it is newer and bigger than the crv and has more features. The question remains though. Does HM have enough sense and guts to bring this car to India in its current stock form? Here is the new edition pic.

If they also had a diesel variant it would have surely given the tuscon a run for its money. Mitsubishi has a higher brand value than hyundai IMO

I agree. Mitsu SUV will defenitely have more brand value than Hyundai SUV. If given a good diesel, it should sell well..

Mitsubishi sells more Outlander units than either the

nissan x-trail
honda cr-v or
toyota RAV4

the new look 2007 outlander is absolutely stunning in every aspect.

Looks like finally mitsubishi is back in the race again.

Looks very yummy. Saw its inside pics in a mag they look fantastic too.

If they launch it with a diesel they'l have a winner answering the 2 needs of the buyers of the segment

1.Brand value(which the tuscon doent have)
2.Low running cost(which the crv petrol cant give)

Whatever the vehicle, i would never go for a mitsubishi (in India atleast). Their commitment to Indian market is very disappointing.
And their partners here, HM, is a company which is only interested in making quick money by selling cheap and outdated versions.

hired a mitsubishi outlander for the past few days in the US and it feels like a car to drive. Very naviagable, responsive - perfect size (thought termed a mini-SUV in the US) especially in india..I really think this would be a great vehicle for our roads.. they need to price it below the CRV and the Tuscon..

Of course it was fun to drive the ford mustang for day - a briliant red one that too..

Ranga Raj

The one you drove should be the current gen outlander coz the 07 outlander is not out yet.

But Mitsu needs to Hurry. The New Honda Cr-v holds great guns.

The new outlander specs are really promising. We'll see what HM does with it! Are they going to stand behind the product or they're going to let it coast?
