Mother's name on drivers license

Guys

Need some info regarding driving license for Andhra Pradesh. I am applying for a new license ( been driving on a IDP issued on New York state drivers license, both the IDP and the NYS license will expire in one week). Would it be possible to have my mothers name on the license instead of fathers name ? also my mothers last name is different from mine. so would it be possible ??

Mods : if not in correct section please change it.

I doubt whether they will permit Mother's name. A different surname is not a big deal.

If your Passport (or any other document) has your Mother's name as stated above, it would not be an issue. At least it was not an issue in U.P.

It shouldn't be an issue. there is a case called Gita Hariharan v. Reserve Bank of India on banks earlier not allowing forms to be filled mother's name. Settled the issue. http://www.githahariharan.com/downlo...up_on_case.pdf
