I've heard that Omni is the vehicle with the lowest turning radius in India followed by Tatas vehicles. Is it true ?

Can someone please list out the vehicles with the lowest turning radius in India ?

Maruti Omni by far

among the tata vehicles, only the Indica (and also the Ace- but that is a pure CV)

No its not TATA.. Its Hyundai Santro which has the second lowest turing radius after OMINI

how about santro... i am sure its lesser than that of indica..

To put it in perspective, only an autorickshaw can give the Omni a run for its money when it comes to low turning radius, getting out of tight spots, etc.

It may lack safety but it is the easiest vehicle to drive in the city.

the omni has a turning radius of 4.4m i think, and the santro comes in very very close at 4.5m

among the sedans, it would be ford ikon/fiesta and nhc, baleno all tied at 4.9m

tata is quite far-behind with 4.9m for the indica and around 5.1m for the indigo

(these figures are just off the head - perhaps someone can verify from the latest ACI issue)

I am very sure that Santro is the only competitor to Omni in this perspective.

However i am curious to know what measuring unit are these figures.

Bcoz i read that Aveo has a turning circle diameter of 10.06 whereas Ford Fiesta and NHC have 9.8m.

Please clarify someone.

measuring unit is Meters (m)

I hope you are not getting confused between radius and diameter.

What about the 800?

The Reva?

Any figures for those two cars?

Another interesting question would be -

Which vehicle (car and SUV) has the largest turning radius ?

Omini is 4.1m
800 is 4.4m
Santro is 4.4m (Someone please measure this just to be sure :))
WagonR is 4.6m
Alto is 4.6m
Zen is 4.9m

And the MUV would be the Qualis at 4.9m (same as zen!!)

And SUV should be scorpio at 5.6m

IMHO,

The Bajaj Scooters and Autorickshaws are unbeatable in the turning radius department.

The award for the largest turning radius should go to the Tata 207 or the Tata TL pickups. I am not sure about the Mahindra Maxx and others.

Ha Ha..

Fiat Siena would be one of the qualifiers

Mercs have a good turning radius........atleast i remember my c-class did.

Matiz has smallest turning radius. Sadly its not in production.
