Yes there is...not sure how it compares to IDM. You can go on the country specific website and price it out.

Re: Maruti Suzuki to develop 800cc Diesel Engine

800cc 2 cyl? Come on MSIL. Its like you want the entry level to suffer by providing them a 2-cyl engine. The 2 potter in Nano, although being a petrol is already very bad in NVH, and a diesel 2 potter, I don't know how bad would that be in NVH levels
Bring atleast a 3 cyl (800-900cc), 40-45 bhp, 100-110 Nm torque to play with. That should be good for 26-27 kmpl ARAI claimed mileage.
They might give Alto and A-Star an 800cc 2 cyl diesel engine, but I feel the WagonR deserves atleast a 1 litre 3 cyl unit.

As for the Nano, TATA is turbo-charging the Ace'a engine for it.
Tata is claiming 40 bhp and 90 Nm torque for it I guess. So, Maruti's figures should be around these only.

Re: Maruti Suzuki to develop 800cc Diesel Engine

Maruti’s homemade diesel engines to include 0.8L, 1.2L, 1.4L & 1.6L.

Maruti officials have confirmed that the company is working on developing brand new diesel engines to power their future products. The LCV would be powered by the 800 cc ,which has been codenamed Y9T, will be launched in India within the next two years and the same engine would be further adapted to Maruti’s small cars, such as the next generation A-Star (codenamed YL7).

Maruti-Suzuki will not stop there, but develop an entire family of new diesel engines including a three-cylinder 1.2-liter unit and four-cylinder 1.4-liter and 1.6-liter units. While the 1.2-liter engine could power hatchbacks the size of the Swift and Ritz, the larger capacity 1.4-liter and 1.6-liter engines would be used on medium to large-sized crossovers.

Maruti aims to launch this engine in the market by 2014-15.
