Hello Friends,

I am planning to buy a SUV, imported. My budget is up to 50 Lac.

Firstly, please suggest me a good option, i am eyeing LX 470, is there any other better option.

Secondly, How much will the car will cost me here in India and a genuine source from where i can pick the deal up in India.

Thanks a lot for the reply guys !!!!

You could get a bmwx5, x3 and maybe if you stretch your budget you might get an rr sport. These are the manufacturers available in India and the dealer will take care of all the import hassles..

For true offroading performance, only one car has been dominant in Dakar.

Mitsubishi Pajero

for comfort and luxury instead of mercs and beemers look at

range rover.

comes with a beemer engine and is Twice as plush and comfortable

Also look at infiniti fx45. Its a mix of hatch, estate, suv, performance car and a cruiser.

This is irrespective of your budget as you havent mentioned one.

mann if ur budjet is 50 lakhs then just go for the new vw tourge... awesome car it looks better then the porshe suv... it's for 45 lakhs ... man if ur a derious kinda person then just close ur eyes nd bye that car....!!!

u can also check it out in it's showroom in noida nd in okhla by 'kashyap motors' ..

If you can stretch the budget a little bit, the X5 it is. It retails for about 56 lacs on-road, Mumbai. Delhi might be a little cheaper. About 51-52 lacs.

If you don't mind a secondhand or a petrol, you could consider the Cayenne Turbo. I heard there were some used turbos up for sale by Vikrant cars or someone; they're pretty much within your range too.

If you want peace of mind, a new car, and do not mind the running costs of a petrol, I suggest you go in for the Toyota Prado. Spares would be easier to obtain, and at least certain showrooms can carry out your services. Plus you get unblemished warranty; and that's a BIG plus point. The Prado retails for about 43 lacs out here. Might set you back by about 40 out there.

If you don't mind waiting, and want a diesel, I suggest you wait three more months for the Mitsubishi Montero (the re-christened new-gen Pajero). At about 30 lacs on-road, it offers just about EVERYTHING the others have up their sleeves, and it's much easier to maintain and live with.

I would strongly suggesting getting a Lexus RX Hybrid imported.. awesome vehicle man..around $46000 in States..(totally built in Japan).

Not anymore except for the Rang Rover dieslel. The others + RR sport petrol and diesel come with Jag engines

50 laks to spend and so little options eh. my bet the porsche cayenne with all the best options from the factory and huge rims. the car to me looks the best in white. there are cpl of options more but still this seems the best

Get a Rover. Brilliant SUV

pajero is superb choice ,its dynamically superb and has a reputation for being the best.

porsche cayenne petrol If I remember correctly is the fastest SUV.

Mitsubishi pajero for ultimate offroading.

Infiniti fx45 if you need the best looking suv

Range rover (yes now its jag engines) are the ultimate in comfort and luxury.

Brilliant but it does not score well for reliabilty and user satisfaction. I think in a few JD Power type surveys it has come near the bottom.

U can get a Porsche Cayenne for 47 lakhs!

Don't think twice!

I would also be tempted by a German SUV. The build quality and reliability will be much better than anything from the UK. Long term the vehicle will last a lot longer as the build quality etc is better on German vehicles, I have an old friend who is a car trader (in the UK) and he sticks to high end German vehicles.

Personally id prefer the VW Toureg with the twin turbo V10TDi (Automobile Kashyap, Greater Noida), one heck of a machine! Looks solid especially the deep blue color they got. If you want it for pure snob value then it would be the Porsche Cayenne (Exclusive Motors, Chanakyapuri) or if you are practical and want to keep it as your daily ride id suggest you stick to the LX470, tried tested and proven!
