Re: Ford Endeavor 3.0-litre 4X4 All Terrain ed launched @ 19.11 lakh

Ford needs to do a serious price correction on the Endy if it wants it to sell. These insignificant cosmetic upgrades will not take it anywhere.
The Endy is not a bad vehicle but is let down by the lack of features, ride quality and price.

They not just need a price correction but also after sales part availability needs to be solved. This is the main factor that Ford is suffering from in Indian market.

Also with this added tweaks to Endevour, it might give some competition to some of the high end SUVs like Fortuner, XUV or the Rexton.

Lets hope Ford gets well with this Endevour in market before its awaited Ecosport launch.

Re: Ford launches Endeavour All-Terrain Edition

The era of "this" gen endy is over. A mere face lift isn't going to help at all.
There competition is getting tight, and unless they roll out a whole new design I do not think people will be attracted towards the showroom.

I am one among the many who look forward to see and buy a new challenging SUV from ford.

Re: Ford launches Endeavour All-Terrain Edition

First Hurricane and now this. Seems like Ford is getting desperate to somehow increase the sales. Doubt if these face-lifts will have an impact.

That said, this definitely looks better than the older version. The chrome-plated alloys look nice. And side airbags are a welcome addition as well.

Re: Ford launches Endeavour All-Terrain Edition

Why is the pricing wrong? I feel that pricing wise its been priced well below the segment leader Fortuner. And even on equipment levels it has more to offer than the fortuner. Only downside is the ride quality.

Otherwise at 19.1 L you are getting a 4X4, SAT NAV system, side airbags etc. The base Fortuner 4X2 starts at 20.5L or something near that IIRC.

Re: Ford launches Endeavour All-Terrain Edition

Ford is back to Limited edition stuff! I do not see anything new here, except the front bull bar and some accessories.

If Ford really wants to compete with Fortuner and the new rival Rexton, they need to get the next gen car here ASAP. The current Endy has been around since ages, despite the 2 face lifts in past it does feel dated. Even at a lower price point, with a more generous equipment list, it still is not a match to newer competition. I cannot think of a single reason why someone should pick it over Fortuner, Pajero Sport or Rexton, except maybe because it is the only Automatic with proper 4X4 with low range and rear lsd.

Too Little, Too Late!!

Re: Ford launches Endeavour All-Terrain Edition

Just got back from Ford. From what I understand, this is not a 'limited edition'. Its just an additional sub-badging, and all new Endys will be Alt Terrain now.

Here's some good news though - there are discounts of ~1L on the old (current) model base (4x2 MT) , and ~1.20 on 4x2 AT.

I think the discounts are nice to have. But they need to bring the new gen soon. This is looking pretty old in the segment.

Re: Ford launches Endeavour All-Terrain Edition

Probably this is an attempt to clear stock and bring in the next gen model, once they are done with the Ecosport launch. This is one segment with loads of potential, considering the fact that there are only a handful of key players (Fortuner, Pajero Sport, and probably the Rexton).

Re: Ford launches Endeavour All-Terrain Edition

This is still a good deal at 19.11 ex showroom, it is about similar to Rexton in pricing and a friend who had gone to Harpreet in Gurgaon said they are giving more free stuff around 30,000 worth.
So in all this money you get a proper 4X4 AT car, with decent kit to boot and more reliable than Rexton, I think, and having a better network than HM Mitsu.

So if someone can get over the age old product and the dated looks, it is quite a good deal.

To be honest my friend who is getting rid of his Safari, he has had more than enough, says this is a brilliant deal. He shares the same suspicions about the Rexton and Pajero sport which I had and between the Fortuner, which his wife loves, and this. Considering the fact that this gives him much more than the Fortuner at a lesser price and he will actually use the 4X4, the Endeavour becomes a good deal.

I did insist on the Fortuner being reliable and all but there is a price difference of around 3 lakhs which is considerable and he gets an AT which he desperately wants.

Re: Ford launches Endeavour All-Terrain Edition

This could be their move to make space for the New Endeavour. If this is the top model with AT and 4x4 then all variants will be below that. So all space above 20 Lakhs is now empty to launch a New vehicle.

Re: Ford launches Endeavour All-Terrain Edition

19.11 ex showroom isn't too much for a SUV like the endeavour. The price tag is completely justifiable as you get a tough well built offroader, much like other players like the Fortuner and the Pajero. Nothing sets back the Endeavour but Ford as a whole is suffering in the market mainly because of after sale issues which buyers give good thought before buying. Endeavour does justice as an SUV even by its price. When Fortuner and Pajero are getting good numbers, why not the Endeavour?
