The GLA45 AMG might retail around 65L-70L unless MB decides that this will be their cheapest AMG. Then you're looking at prices south of 65L.

The regular variants might not get 4MATIC for a while unless there's demand for it. Hormazd (from the above linked video) says that MB won't be bringing in the 4MATIC variants as it primarily sees its customers using the cars just within the city & might not have a need for it!

CLA45 AMG is priced at 68 ex showroom. Is the GLA cheaper or more expensive than the CLA in other markets?

Depends on the configuration you choose~ Considering the base prices, the CLA45 4MATIC is cheaper than the GLA45 AMG.

The ACI review of the GLA is here. The car looks set to take over the mantle of most sought over Merc in our country from the A class. GLA 200 India review, test drive

Excerpts on the important bits.

For a carmaker obsessed with safety for over a century, this is one area where Mercedes hasn’t stinted.

For the Indian market, the GLA comes with only front-wheel-drive and there’s no 4Matic option for now.

Despite riding on strictly tarmac tyres and driven by just the front two wheels, the GLA clambered up a muddy track with remarkable ease. Back on tarmac, the GLA continued to impress with the confidence it gave on an undulating and gently winding road. The steering isn’t crisp or full of feel but it weights up with a nice consistency and is fairly accurate. The overall impression after a long drive in the GLA is that there’s a maturity in the way it handles and it feels nicely tied down.
And here is Hormazd with the GLA

Mercedes-Benz GLA and CLA might be produced locally

The much awaited crossover from Mercedes-Benz - GLA and its sedan sibling - CLA, are expected to be produced locally at the company's Chakan plant, near Pune. Both, the GLA and CLA are based on the Modular Front Architecture (MFA) platform, shared with the A-class. The cars are expected to share the 2.0 litre turbo petrol and 2.2 litre turbo diesel motors albeit in different states of tune; also sharing of parts too would be to a higher degree.

Interestingly, the A-class and B-class, which are the premium hatchback offerings by Mercedes-Benz are offered in India as Completely Built Units. The company however, plans to locally produce these two upcoming offerings to price them competitively. The GLA will take on rivals such as Audi Q3, BMW X1 and the Mini Countryman, while the CLA will be pitted against the recently launched Audi A3.

The next generation C-class too will be locally produced at the Chakan plant. The current capacity of this plant is 10,000 units which is expected to be fully utilised with the production of these models.
