RIP Karl. Met him at the Expo few years back.

Some news emerging at Times UK Network.

Argument with Wife, 3 Page note is from Wife, and the final jump.

The fundamentals of life remain same no matter how much higher / lower one is in the material world. We all would like to be in love and be loved. Hmmm.

The language devil. Times of India says his wife of 30 years (i.e. they have been married 30 years, while the local nose (Dainik Jagaran) says his 30 year old wife. I bet it is the former! The picture confirms it.

Yes, you are right. This is what Daily Mail says:

Quote:

The couple, both from Derby, married in 1984 and would have celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary this summer. They met after Mr Slym had a car accident and his future wife, who worked in insurance, helped him complete the paperwork. They had no children.

I have read several tweets and news articles on untimely and tragic loss of life of a gentleman and was not able to make up mind as to what to write. I had an opportunity to see him from very close distance at Lavasa at the launch event of new Safari . Had read some articles on General Motors in India while he was with GM and was pretty impressed with how customer focussed was he. He was actually one of the hands on person and one of the examples that I had witnessed was that he had personally supervised the preparations for the media launch event having spent almost an evening there with his team before the actual launch. Its a loss for Tata Motors and automobile industry as much as it is for his friends and his family. May God bestow peace upon the departed soul.
RIP Mr. Karl Slym.

Very sad, RIP Mr. Slym!! Friends please stop speculating the reasons for his death/suicide, lets give the authorities time to complete their investigations. Also please refrain from accusing Tata motors, or their alleged practices for his death, if nothing the Tatas are India's most ethical business house, may be the only ethical business house. Before putting in putting in India TV/Aaj Tak style baseless and poisonous comments, lets pause for a while and think, we are a respected automobile community and forum, since when did we descend to this kind of facebook forum talks?

Oh My God! Shocked to hear the news. Had great respect for him and as many of them said only hope for Tata motors. May his soul rest in peace.

Still couldn't digest the news :(

A very nice article about Karl Slym by Hormazd Sorabjee:

This is indeed very saddening, Karl was a major game changer and a lot of TML\'s future relied on his vision.I still remember quoting his name as an automotive visionary to people around me and how he has brought changes to TML. May his soul rest in peace.

Rest in Peace Mr.Karl Slym.

After a lot of rumours on the cause of his death, including that of murder, Karl seems to have committed suicide owing to marital discord.

His last rites will take place in the UK, his native country.

R.I.P Karl. sorry:
